Chapter Thirteen : Hopeless Romantics..

"I'm scared." Chris admitted to Melanie who sitting beside him. They were at Starbucks, but hadn't walked in yet. After enough convincing over the phone for the past few days, they finally got Lotus to agree to go on a lunch date.

"Don't be. You guys love each other ,right?" Mel reminded. It broke her to admit it but she had to face reality. She was nowhere near over it ,but was dealing.

"Yeah. But what if she doesn't even want to see me? I lied to her and we t--"

"You'll be fine."

"Mel?" She averted her attention to him.

"Yes?"

"I'm actually beginning to like you--and you know I can't stand yo malnourished ass,but you're growing on me." Chris chuckled. Mel couldn't help but laugh her self.

"Well its time for you to get in there now. Go in there and talk to her. Tell her the truth. Who knows? Maybe she'll even give you a chance? You guys belong together." She broke even more admitting that.

"Thanks Mel." He got out of the car and walked into Starbucks. Lotus already sat waiting at a table.

"Hey." Chris greeted.

"Hi." Such a dry tone.

"Imma go ahead and get straight to the point. I'm sorry I didn't tell you Lotus. I really am. You weren't supposed to know anyway. No one was."

"But you could trust me. We're friends ,Christopher. There is nothing you have to hide from me. I dont hide anything from you that is important as hell."

"I know. That's why I'm apologizing to you, Lotus. I don't want you mad at me. And I damn sure don't wanna let you go. You mean a lot to me. "

"If I mean a lot to you ,tell me why you didn't tell me the truth." Chris sighed.

"I didn't because I didn't want anyone to know about my other issues."

"What other issues?"

"Can we talk about that another time?"

"Do you want me back as you friend?"

"I want you back as more." He states truthfully.

"Christopher, we are not working on that now." Lotus answered. Chris looked at her with a big grin.

"You really mean that? You'd actually give me a chance?"

"Yes. I wouldn't admit that I love you for nothing."

"So when can I take you out on a date?" He asked with a sly smile.

"Whenever you ask me."

"Okay." He nodded.

"Hes not gonna ask me now? That was his cue to ask me now? Does he not see that?" Lotus thought.

"So you're not gonna ask me now? After I threw hints to ask now? Obvious hints."

Christopher shook his head "No."

"Then when are you?"

"Don't worry about that now. That's when you least expect it."

"When I least expect it?" Lotus quizzed amused by him.

"Yeah. So keep asking and see what happen. You gone end up at a McDonald's. And you gone have to order of the dollar menu." He joked. Lotus couldn't help but laugh.

"As corny as this sounds, it wouldn't matter because I'm with you. I'd do anything with you, anywhere."

"Me too." He said as they grabbed each other hands. They looked into each others eyes in silence. No words exchanged at all.

They're such hopeless romantics..
