Vandita's pov
I woke up wrapped in Ranvijay's arms. My body ached, but a warm, tingling feeling washed over me as his face nuzzled into my neck, his scent calming me. Suddenly, a wave of nausea hit, and I quickly slipped out of bed, rushing to the bathroom where I started to throw up. My head felt dizzy, and I soon heard Ranvijay's voice nearby. He came beside me, shocked to see me like this, and gently patted my back, trying to comfort me.
Once I could stand again, I turned to look at him. His worried expression softened as he held my face gently.
"Vandita, aap theek hain na?" he asked, his voice full of worry. I nodded weakly, though my head was still spinning. He gave a small nod in response, then gently lifted me into his arms and carried me back to bed.
(are you okay, vandita?)
"Rukiye, hum maa sa ko bulvaate hain, unke paas kaafi tarah ki jadibootiyan hoti hain, shayad aapko kuch raahat mile" he said, and I nodded, feeling the need for mother's presence.
(Wait, I'll call Maa sa, she has many kinds of herbs. Perhaps they will bring you some relief)
Ranvijay tucked me in carefully, his eyes filled with concern as I lay back, my head throbbing and my stomach still unsettled. I closed my eyes, finding comfort in his presence as he left to call for help.
After a while, Maa Sa arrived with attendants carrying various herbs. She looked at me with concern, gently caressing my head, and I managed a weak smile and nodded.
"Chinta mat karo, tum theek ho jaaogi meri bacchi" she reassured, lifting my dupatta and carefully touching my stomach, asking me many questions as she examined me. After the checkup, a warm smile lit up her face as she glanced between me and Ranvijay. I felt confused, looking over at Ranvijay, uncertain of what this all meant.
(Don't worry, my child you will be fine)
"Jaldi jaao aur daai maa ko bula kar laao" she instructed one of the attendants, a wide smile still gracing her lips.
(Go quickly and bring Daai Maa here)
When Daai Maa arrived, she exchanged a few words with Maa Sa before approaching me and beginning her examination. Soon, she turned to Ranvijay and requested him to leave the room, which he did promptly after giving me a reassuring look.
I felt increasingly confused and a bit awkward as I noticed the smiles exchanged between Maa Sa and Daai Maa. Then, Daai Maa looked at Maa Sa and broke the news with a bright smile.
"Badhaayi ho Maharani, Ranisa maa banne wali hain" she announced, and my eyes widened at her words. Maa sa giggled with joy as she came toward me and kissed my forehead. I was in complete shock.
