Two out of eight. I wonder if I can get all eight done today, but I know that would mentally kill me. I love writing, don't get me wrong, but it gets boring after a while. I might post two every day off until Halloween. I have a Halloween one shot for Shadow that I'd like to start the next book with on Halloween.

New York was going through a bad thunderstorm. Everyone else was fine with the horrible weather. For them, it meant a day off unless Nick surprised them with a mission. For you, it meant anxiety due to the thunder and strong but harmless gusts of wind. Your mind begged to differ about the "harmless" part.

You were in your room curled up in your bed. You were scrolling through Instagram to try and distract yourself from the storm outside. Unfortunately, more of your attention was focused on the storm than your phone.

A knock sounded then a voice. "May I come in, (Y/N)?"

"Yeah," you called. You sat up.

Loki came into your room and closed the door behind him. Your body tensed at a clap of thunder and he flinched.

"Not one for storms?" he asked. "The team is watching a film. Your brother sent me to ask you if you wanted to join them."

"No and are you not watching it with them?" you replied.

Loki shook his head. "It's horror, but a horror you would like."

"I don't wanna watch it if you won't be there," you said.

"In that case, I'm staying with you," he said.

"Why'd you flinch at the thunder?" you asked. "Thor's the God of Thunder. Shouldn't you be used to it?"

"It's not something I fancy. He's actually part of the reason why," he explained.

You didn't pry. "Fair."

"I'm glad not to be alone in finding it discomforting," he said while sitting next to you.

"It's more so the wind, but the thunder doesn't help when you can feel the vibrations," you said.

"Well, since we're both a bit on-edge, might I offer a distraction?" he asked.

"What'd you have in mind?" you coaxed.

Small, colorful fireworks shot from his hand. "A magic show, perhaps?'

You smiled. "Okay."

Loki pulled off his shoes and got under your blanket with you. He pulled you into the hole created by his crossed legs so you were in his lap. "Ready?"

You nodded. "Mhm."

The god created more mini fireworks that shot from his palm. They popped and fizzled. Their colors reflected in your eyes. He then created a small transparent constellation image of (birth sign). You couldn't help but giggle in awe.

Over the course of an hour, you ended up changing positions. You were now laying against the headboard with your pillow preventing any discomfort. Loki was on his back and you were on your side with your head on his chest. His free arm held you to him. You yawned softly.

"Take a nap," he said. With a flourish of his hand, a tiara of sparkly magic appeared on your head. "I remember you telling me you didn't sleep long enough last night."

"I don't wanna mess up my sleep schedule," you countered.

"It's still early enough," he said. "I'll wake you in twenty minutes, all right?"

"Okay, fine," you caved with another yawn. Your eyes closed. The last thing you felt before falling asleep was Loki's soft lips pressing to your forehead in a loving kiss.
