Y/N followed behind the sandman, skeptical as to why they needed you to be a guardian. Surely they could find a replacement for her?

Although many people couldn't understand the sandman's strange way of communication, Y/N could.

"So, why am I needed to be a guardian, and how am I supposed to do it?" she asked, her bitterness leaving her voice. The sandman seemed a lot better than the other guardians. Something about him made her trust him- somewhat.

A multitude of symbols appeared above his head, leaving you to translate.

"So, the man in the moon wants me to be a guardian- and the guardian of love?" Y/N asked, hoping she got it right.

He nodded eagerly. Y/N smiled the slightest bit.

"Must be difficult for you to communicate with people, huh? I bet you're glad I'm able to understand you." she asked him.

He nodded again, complimenting her on her translating skills, again through a series of symbols.

"Well, as much as I'd like to stay, I need you to tell the man in the moon that  I can't be a guardian, and he knows why." you told the Sandman.

He looked at Y/N skeptically. She had to admit. He was quite adorable. Like a teddy bear or something.

"Oh, you probably are wondering why?" she asked again.

He nodded. Y/N giggled silently due to his way of communication, because a lot of it came from his facial expressions. She didn't mind, but she felt bad that the others could barely understand him.

"I'm far too busy to be a guardian, sadly. As much as I'd love to, I have a very tight schedule, and taking time off of my work would create havoc. Unless the man in the moon can provide me helpers of some sort, I'm afraid I can't." She explained.

The sandman smiled and arranged another jumble of symbols.

Y/N smiled in disbelief. "He's going to provide me with helpers?" She asked.

He nodded. Y/N patted him on the shoulder , excited that she would be able to have some time to relax and unwind.

"Hey, would you mind if I called you Sandy?" Y/N asked. The sandman was the closest thing she had to a friend- if he proved himself trustworthy.

The Sandman- now dubbed Sandy smiled and nodded again. She smiled back at him. As the walked back over to the place where they had first met, Y/N took a moment to take in her surroundings. Before she had been too occupied by the guardians, so she hadn't noticed where she was.

The entire space gave off a homey feel. It was cozy and warm, and throughout the entire building, little gnomes- no, elves ran around amuck, causing trouble in whatever possible way. In the middle, a beautiful globe stood, with shining lights all around.

Santa Claus' workshop. It definitely lived up to her expectations. A few elves ran around her legs before running off someplace else. Y/N leaned against the railing and stared at the globe, wondering what the little lights meant.

She heard a squeak as another person leaned into the railing as well. She didn't need to look to know who it was. She could feel the chill that was coming off of the other being next to her. Jack Frost.

"So, I think we got off to a bad start." He commented.

Y/N half heartedly laughed. "You think?"

"Yeah. Anyway, let me start this over. Hi, I'm Jack Frost." He said, lending his hand for a handshake, trying to make up for the fight that had happened earlier.
