The Warren was the most colorful place she'd ever set eyes on. It was certainly beautiful- but not as beautiful as back home.

Come to think of it, Y/N hadn't visited home in a long while. She disregarded that fact as soon as it entered her mind. Home was no place for her to visit. The memories there were just too strong.

Bunnymund cleared his throat, successfully grabbing her attention.

"Alright, Sheila, I'm gonna help train ya." He said.

Without hesitation, Bunnymund began to explain.

"Alright. It may seem that Pitch Black is really scary, but he's not all that. If you don't want to not be afraid, you need to understand. It's not him you need to be afraid of." He paused, looking at Y/N, as if asking her if she understood. She nodded, letting him continue. "Pitch- he knows everyone's deepest fears, and the thing is, he's not the scary thing. He uses everyone deepest darkest fears against him. That's what the scary thing is."

Y/N nodded. Pitch was definitely something to be wary of. She definitely needed to be prepared. She was not clueless as to what her greatest fear was, and if Pitch knew that, he could use it against her.

She looked at Bunny again, waiting for him to continue. This was going to be a while.
________

Around an hour later, Bunnymund and Y/N had finished the first stage of her training, and he had declared that they would take a break.

So there they were, sitting on some rocks, having a polite conversation.

"So, Y/N, I hate to be intrusive, but why did you disappear all of a sudden for a week? Did Jack do something to ya? If so he's got another thing coming-"

Y/N shook her head. "No, it wasn't him. I just let my guard down."

"Let your guard down?" He asked, clearly confused as to what she was taking about.

"Forget I said anything." She ordered. She had said too much.

"Alright. But I'll tell ya one thing- you're definitely a mysterious one."

The corners of Y/N's mouth lifted ever so slightly.

"I suppose I am."

Back at the pole, instead of paying attention to North, who was delightedly babbling about some new toy he had created to the other guardians, she tended to her bow and arrows, even though they were in pristine condition. She took pride in her wings, as well as her bow and arrow, so she made sure to take extra care of them.

Little did she know, she wasn't the only one who wasn't listening.

Jack was definitely not good at sneaking up on people, Y/N knew that for sure. Wherever he went, a chilly breeze followed along, signifying he was there- so when Y/N felt a crisp chill at the back of her neck, she knew who is was.

"Why are you avoiding me? Did I do something to you?" She heard from behind her. She knew it was Jack.

"No you didn't. I just prefer to be alone."

She heard Jack huff from behind her.

"Didn't seem like it when we spent time together." He muttered under his breath.

"What's it to you?" She asked, suddenly annoyed by his intrusiveness. That was her business and she was going to keep it that way!

"I'm your friend, Y/N!" He replied, not a second later.

"Whatever. I'm going to go get some fresh air." She said, hoping it was a good enough excuse to get away. She needed space and pronto, before she blew up on everyone.

"Fine- but you'll have to talk to me tomorrow for training."

"Is it so troublesome to give me some privacy?!" She sputtered. This boy knew exactly how to get on her nerves, and he was a professional at doing so.

"I am! I haven't pestered you further than wanting to talk to you! I want to be friends and you keep pushing me away!"

"Maybe I don't want friends! Maybe I'm better off alone!" She said, her tone raising by the second.

She looked back to see Jack, her face contorted with anger, only to see a look of hurt on his face- and she regretted what she had said.

But regretting it couldn't take it back. He turned away, and headed the other direction, before Y/N could say anything more.

She wondered if it was for the best.

Hey guys! I'm sorry for the extra week delay. On top of writers block, this was the chapter I've been having trouble with for a while, as well as the beginning of school, and some problems (bless the counsellor and internet friends for helping me) but this book is getting moving again! Yay! Anyway, see you next chapter!
