I sat there, staring at Elijah, who was staring right back at me. His dark brown eyes showed recognition... like he was remembering something that I didn't know about. A purple mist fogged his eyes.
"Elijah.." I spoke in a soft whisper. I'm almost afraid of him going feral on me.
He drank my blood.
Was he okay?
I couldn't tell. He hadn't said anything yet, and I felt like he wasn't truly staring at me right now.
I slowly moved towards him. Rose was still unconscious but healing. My concern was with Elijah right now.
"Elijah... look at me." I whispered. His eyes cleared for a moment as he blinked, clearing the fog.
"Lorraine.." Elijahs voice was deep and breathy as he looked at me in disbelief. I frowned, tilting my head to the side.
"It's Eleanor." I felt the need to remind him. Even though it was my middle name... but I never gave him it, so how did he know?
Elijahs face dropped as he heard me correct him. He looked so confused by whatever he was thinking.
"Right." He cleared his throat as he dropped back to his normal plain expression.
I stared at him, watching as he stood up and adjusted his now wrinkled jacket.
"You have company. The wolf." Elijah said in a voice you would hear from Human Resources.
I nodded as I stood up. I glanced back at Rose and saw she was sleeping a bit and healed. Pulling the blanket over her, I sighed.
"Will she be alright?" Elijah asked.
"She will be. It'll take time." I whispered, turning to face the man. He was closer to me now. Elijah stared down at me, his eyes curious. His fingers reached up and brushed a stray curl from my face gently.
"How do I remember you?" Elijah questioned, his chocolate eyes burning as they melt me easily. I frowned at his words and shook my head.
"We never met, Elijah... I didn't know yours until you called about my ad for your brother.." I reminded him. It was the truth. The only Mikaelson I had met in my past was Freya, and she... she was gone.
"But I remember you, Lorraine... it took your blood for me to see that.." He shook his head as if trying to work it out for himself.
"I have never gone by my middle name before.." I whispered as his fingers stroked my cheek. Elijah pulled back at that and nodded.
"Right. I must be thinking of another." He accepted before turning to the door. "Your wolf friend is getting anxious. You should attend to him before he decides to bite Damon Salvatore or Lorenzo." He said before leaving the room.
I sighed. There were so many questions going through my head, but I had to shake it off for now. It was a full moon.
Leaving the room, making sure to close the door quietly, I was instantly cornered by the blue-eyed Salvatore.
"How is she?" He asked, almost proving he had a soul.
"She'll be fine.. just needs rest. I got the venom out." I ensured him. He nodded and looked past me for a moment. I noticed the hole in his shirt with blood staining it.
"Who tried to kill you?" I laughed a bit dryily. He was an annoying, extremely killable guy. He looked at me with annoyance.
"Enzo. We go way back. Apparently, he holds a bit of a grudge." Damon muttered, widening his eyes a bit. He's very dramatic.
"Probably rightfully so. You seem the type to do stupid shit." I said as I walked past him to the living room.
Tyler Lockwood was bouncing his leg, looking like an anxious puppy in a storm.
"You activated the curse, did you? Poor soul, whoever you killed. Tell me, was it an accident?" I asked as I made my way to the bar table to examine the options. Tyler jumped up.
"You gotta help me.. I- I don't even know what to expect." Tyler tried to start ranting, but I hushed him as I shoved a bottle of whiskey into his hands.
"Drink. It'll take the edge off." I encouraged the seventeen year old. He looked a bit shocked before opening the bottle and taking a long drink. Only then did I notice Finn and Enzo in the room.
My own personal entourage.
Great.
I rolled my eyes and focused on Tyler.
"That is not a freebie." Damon said as he snatched the whiskey from Tyler. I laughed.
"Careful, Damon.. he could just bite you, and you'd be dead... all that over a bit of whiskey." I hummed as I poured myself some bourbon. Damon rolled his eyes as he put the bottle back and grabbed a newer and cheaper bottle of whiskey.
"The puppy doesn't get the good stuff." He growled slightly into my ear, causing Finn the growl behind us. "You have bodyguards." Damon laughed as he handed Tyler a glass instead of the bottle.
"I don't need bodyguards to tear you apart." I warned with a snap of my fangs, my eyes flashing. Damon widened his eyes and held his hands up.
"I won't push it."
"Maybe you are smart." I mouthed off before turning back to Tyler. "You want to take control? You have so much pain to go through before that happens."
Tyler nearly whimpered at the thought as I smiled.
"Let's get started."
