Finn's Pov:
"New Zealand? Why the hell would they go there?" Kol asked as I stared at my phone. Elijah had texted me a few minutes ago to let us know his humanity was on, and he was keeping Eleanor close.
"She has a thing for isolated areas." I muttered as I sent my brother a text back.
"So, what? Do we go to New Zealand? Do we quit looking for Freya?" Enzo asked as he fiddled with Freyas necklace Eleanor had given us to use.
"Going to New Zealand would be pointless. Elijah will keep an eye on her and keep us informed." I said decisively. Elijah wouldn't let her out of his sight. I knew that. I trusted him.
----
It was a long drive to New Orleans. One I could have passed on. Kol made snide remarks here and there about how good it had felt to have magic again while it had lasted. He also poked fun about how Elijah and I were sharing a girl who wanted nothing to do with us.
"Are you done?" I questioned as Kol grinned.
"What's wrong, brother? Is it bothering you to know that I'm right?" Kol asked. Enzo was staying silent in the back.
"Eleanor only is pulling away from us because she thinks her siren blood is causing us to feel this way." I explained as I pulled out my phone. I hadn't received a text from Elijah in over three hours.
"Is that what she told you?" Kol asked. I sighed and nodded.
"Siren blood causes a sexual pull to them." Enzo spoke up from the back. "But we feel more than that. Don't we?" He looked at me from his seat in the middle of the back.
"Have you ever met a siren?" Kol asked with interest. Enzo shook his head.
"The Vindiction spoke about them. Always assumed they were a fictional thing humans made up." Enzo shrugged.
"Well, Eleanor is definitely real." Kol chuckles. He glances at me as he drives. "You love her, don't you? I heard you talking to her yesterday."
"If you already know, then why are you asking me?" I muttered as I sent Elijah another text. Why wasn't he answering me?
"Finn." Kol said, forcing me to look at him. "We'll get her back. She's the only person I've seen make you... normal."
"This is normal?" Enzo snorts before moving to lean towards the front seats. "Heard anything from Elijah?"
"No." I muttered as I put my phone away. Kol and Enzo frowned. Kol grabbed his phone and held it to his ear.
I eyed him. Seeing him not speak as the phone rings before going to voicemail.
"No answer... that's weird." Kol muttered as he looked at his phone.
"Does he always answer?" Enzo questioned. Kol shrugs as he calls someone else.
"Kol and I have been in coffins for a while. We've missed out on a lot of things." I tell Enzo as I listen to the phone ring.
"Kol. Hadn't expected to hear from you. Elijah, yes. You and Finn? Never. What is it?" I looked at Kol, surprised he had called Niklaus.
"We have a problem. Elijah isn't answering his phone." Kol said as he kept driving towards New Orleans.
"And this involves me....because?" Niklaus asks.
"You two have some forever and always thing between you. He's with Eleanor, who has no humanity right now." Kol said, rolling his eyes.
"She's alive?!" Niklaus growled.
"Stay focused, Niklaus. Elijah hasn't been answering. We need to make sure everything is okay." Kol pulled off the highway. "Just call our brother and see if you can get through."
"Of course, little brother. Whatever you wish." Niklaus hung up after that. I looked at Kol, annoyed.
"Why would you tell him she was alive? You know he will be out for revenge now." I reminded him with irritation.
"You honestly think Nik could kill Eleanor? Honestly?" Kol laughed.
"He has a point." Enzo chimed in. I rolled my eyes.
"Just find us a hotel to stay in."
