A hand on her armwhirled her around
her breath hitched when she noticed
her step-father's deep frown
"What are you doing out here"
drunkenly, he inquired
'waiting for my date?'
but she doubt that piece of information was required
And like the 'smooth liar' she was;
"Uh.., air? F-fresh air."
just like that his unfocused gaze
turned into a full glare
She leaned back
when he leaned in,
"Don't lie to me, you bitch"
he spat, while gripping her chin
The girl turned around
and trudged down the road,
Struggling with the awfulness
As she pulled out her headphone cords
"Finally found a boy toy to play with, aye, you whore!"
he went on.
turning, she flipped him the bird
only to spot a bmw parked in front of her lawn
Her heart skipped a beat,
upon seeing him
in his clean cut suit
his once cool demeanor, grim
Sean walked up to her,
wearing his signature grin
on the inside all he really felt was
pure chagrin
"Ready?"
he asked upon reaching her
holding up her hand
kissing it, light as a fur
The boy offered her his arm
which she gladly took
"Is that the boy you're whoring around with?"
the step-father barked, with a disgusted look
Sean led Rain to his car,
and told her to wait
then he went up to the old man
who couldn't even stand straight
The girl couldn't hear
the words that passed between them
worried all she did was
fiddle with her dress's hem
Sean said something
to the man;
his eyes widened with panic
and inside the house, he ran
Rain had been looking at
the old man's retreating figure
"Shall we?" Suddenly, the guy holding open
the car door looked much bigger
With a deep breath
"We shall."
relieved, she settled on the plush leather seat, for
escaping the drama and her own personal hell
Even if it lasted for a little while,
she was determined to make the best of it
