34. WARM DAYS OF YOU

— ANAIS' POV

Today will be the last day for Anais to spend waking up in the morning next to Jay in his bed — the last day she'd caress his honey-glazed cheeks the first thing in the morning. The last moment she could plant hundred of kisses to wake him up. The last time she would be preparing their breakfast together as a couple before she flies back to Seoul in the evening. The reality of life hits her like a ton of bricks onto her head whenever she realises that she has to go back living her life without Jay again by her side.

Anais wishes that she'd have the ability to pause the time in the world so that she could stay longer with him. Everything about leaving the significant other in another country just feels terribly horrible — it feels like there's an enormous hole in your heart that's been missing and it couldn't be loaded unless it's the presence of the love of your life that fill up the emptiness of it.

The sudden thought of moving to another country just to be with Jay crashes all over Anais like a cold wave. At the same time, she couldn't just leave her whole family behind to move across the country. But the thought of leaving him hurts more and this day just dreads her, like Anais just wants to spend her whole day doing nothing, but to be stuck with Jay at all times.

With the warm white duvet covering their bare bodies, Anais snuggles herself around Jay's chest before plastering a feathery morning kiss on his lips. "Good morning, my Jay. Wake up, we don't have much time left today. I have my flight scheduled in the evening, remember?" Anais coos ever so softly, almost like a sweet whisper into his ear. The morning voice of Anais leaves Jay to peek an eye out at her, fluttering his lids so that he could focus what's in front of him.

"Good morning, my angel." Jay utters in his groggy morning voice as he returns her his multiple morning kisses in between. "My baby." He keeps on going for a another kiss as he lazily reaches for her face closer. "My world." Jay sheepishly grins at her with his sleepy face, eyes barely open fully. "What do you wanna do today? Do you have anywhere you wish to go? I could drive you around though before dropping you off at the airport soon."

"I don't know, Seattle boy. Can I just spend the whole day with you doing nothing — like cuddling with you for hours?" Anais suggests, wrapping her arms around Jay's body like he's a human bear. "or just bring me anywhere. Perhaps your favourite spot, I just want to spend my last time with you as much as I can" She mumbles under her breath, sounding too much under the weather.

"Hey, why do you sound so sad?" Jay breathes in heavily while staring down at Anais who sticks to him like glue.

"Because I have to go back and I can't see you anymore."

"We can Facetime when you return."

"It's not the same. I wanna see you face to face. I wanna hug you. I wanna cuddle with you. I wanna kiss you. I wanna go on a date with you." Anais listing out her desires one by one, only for Jay to be disheartened with this whole distance that they share.

"I promise you, once I've settled some of the important things here in Seattle, I'll spare some time to visit you in Seoul, okay? I just need you to be patient with me, Anais. Be patient with our relationship." Jay utters as he softly ruffles her hair. He just want to ensure that everything will be alright although the distance has teared them apart, but it's what makes them both stronger every day.

"Of course. I'll be patient for you and I'll wait for you, my love."

"So shall we get up, make some breakfast and be ready for our final date for today?" Jay suggests.

Anais packs some of her things so that she doesn't leave anything behind, whilst Jay is busy making breakfast for the both of them. The two of them then devour their breakfast and get dressed up for their date shortly. As soon as they're done with everything, Jay helps Anais with her luggage to set them into his car, before they can go for a drive around the town.

The weather is surprisingly sunny and warm — it's such a perfect day to have a really nice walk at the park in the city, therefore Jay suggests that he'll bring Anais over to his usual spot. "There's a place that I'd always go for walks or to clear my mind here, it's called Kerry Park. With such weather, we can go there and have a small picnic if you want." Jay says.

Anais nods to him — along the way while he's driving, she finds herself staring at Jay more than usual in his seat. She couldn't be thankful enough for him — just the way that the fate brought them together and let them meet in the past. She finds herself falls in love with him even deeper this time — how he always treats her with so much love and patience.

As soon as they made their arrival at the destination, Jay parks the car and leads Anais the way to the park, strolling by her side arm in arm. "Do you often go here?" Anais asks to break the silence that takes over between them just now.

"Depends on my mood. If I feel like I need to clear my mind, then I'll visit and have a walk and kinda just chill." Jay admits.

"What did you have in your mind when you come here then?"

"Just a lot of things. But mostly, it's just you."

"Me?"

"Yeah, thinking on what the future holds for us, since right now I am far from you yet we live thousand miles away from each other, I always thought that will I ever spend the lifetime where my days are filled with you in it? Like you mentioned this morning, you wanted me be there for you physically and doing things together without worrying too much about our distances. I just think about that a lot." Jay explains carefully.

"Days without you can be so suffering. I don't know if I have the strength to live without you when I'm going back home soon."

"I don't think I'll be as strong either." Jay says before he's reaching for Anais' hand to hold in his. "But at least I know that I should get up every morning and have the motivation to live my life so that I can look forward on meeting you again. ."

"Of course. I guess I'll just use you as my coping mechanism to get through shitty days and wait for the best day to be with you."

They both walk and walk whilst the golden sun kisses softly on their skin. Those faint sounds of leaves rustling, birds chirping and people constant chatting accompany those lovers in the background, which makes the day turns out more relaxed and chill to live in.

"You know what? Ever since, you've stepped your foot here in Seattle, the weather has been so much better, so much warmer when you're around. It's like your presence here brought so much warmth and comfort in my days unlike how it usually was as it was always raining." Jay snaps as he changes the topic.

"Really? So, do you reckon that I am a sunshine?" Anais states whilst making a cute reaction to her boyfriend.

Jay nods at her, "Yeah, my sunshine."
