"I am going to kill you!!" Arthit grumbled as he was ushered along by Kongpob in the queue with Aim in tow. His husband had him in pretty much a death grip, making sure he had nowhere to run. "Why do I have to go on this one? You and Aim have been going around the rest of the rides without me! You don't need me here!"
"And I've been feeling guilty this whole time but you had completely refused to sit on my lap during the other rides!" Kongpob responded indignantly. In his defense, he had indeed suggested for Arthit to come along on all the other amusement park rides they had been on earlier in the day but the other had refused citing Kongpob's safety.
Indeed, while Arthit could apparently adjust his body's state to pass through objects, it wasn't something he could control all the time and he wasn't going to take that risk when that tiny bar was the only thing making sure his husband wasn't going to fall off the roller coaster.
It was a pity really, since Arthit was a little bit of an adrenaline junkie. But they had chosen a rather crowded day to come to the park, meaning that the chances of Kongpob being able to ride solo and for him to hop in next to him was close to none. So all he could do was stand at the side, watching as the two best friends go on ride after ride.
It was regretful, but it was a fate he had resigned to. At least he could have some semblance of a date. A dead man shouldn't ask for too much. But this? Right now? This ride? Of all rides in the park, this was the one ride he wouldn't have minded skipping but no, of course Kongpob didn't know and happily dragged him on it.
"Besides, this is the only attraction that we get to walk through on our own! We don't have to worry about you being next to me!"
"The one ride I didn't want to be next to you on and I can't even avoid it." Arthit grumbled under his breath, dragging his feet after the other who was practically trotting his way around the queue.
"What did you say?" Kongpob turned to face him, to which the other quickly shook his head. No way in hell was Arthit going to tell the truth. But as the entrance to the ride got closer, his face got paler.
"We have to walk through that?!" Arthit couldn't help but squeak as they were almost at the front where the crew was stopping people by the groups to ensure that people were amply spaced out in between.
"Mm hmm, it is a walking ride!" Kongpob chirped happily, his hands tightening around Arthit's as he felt his husband flinch. At that, Aim's face paled as he froze.
"Kongpob! My stomach isn't feeling too good. Why don't you go with P'Arthit and I'll meet up with you later. I really have to get to the toilet or I may regret it!" Before either Kongpob or Arthit had the chance to respond, the other man had already ran up to the attendant who let him out through the queue belts while the other was ushering them into the house.
"Sir, are you okay to go on your own? Your friend.." The attendant started but was greeted by a ridiculously cheery Kongpob.
"I can go by myself!" Kongpob answered as he swiftly entered, dragging Arthit in tow. The elder groaned as he covered his eyes, following close behind without a choice. He wasn't sure he was going to make it out of the haunted house alive.
True enough, upon entering, Arthit already felt the chills of the place run down his spine. There was a constant soft crying of a girl playing in the background from the point that they stepped into the haunted house. The interior was designed as a haunted mansion, the lights flickering on and off just enough for people to see where they were headed next.
Just as they had stepped onto the stairs leading up, Arthit flinched, gripping onto Kongpob's shirt tightly from the back. The flickering lights coupled with the light creeks revealed an old skeleton seated in the rocking chair below. Arthit wanted to turn back so badly but he could barely even see the way out right now.
"Kongpob.." He couldn't help but whine. "Let's get out of here, I don't like it."
Kongpob swiftly pulled him by his right arm, snaking it around his own waist so that Arthit was now plastered to Kongpob's back. "There's only one way out of this now Oon, just hold onto me and we'll be out of here before you know it."
"This is why I didn't want to come in in the first place!" Arthit continued whining, hiding himself behind his husband's back. It didn't stop him from looking around the area constantly though. He may be a ghost but humans were the real terrifying ones. With the atmosphere and aura hanging around the whole area, he did not trust anything at this point. It was best to be on guard. Who knew if something might come flying out at them from behind?
"Look, the faster we finish our mission, the faster we're out of here Oon." Kongpob whispered, guiding the other upwards.
"Mission?" Arthit hissed back, whipping his head around so aggressively Kongpob swore his neck would have been strained if the man was alive. "You mean I have to interact with these things??"
"Technically they are human and again, technically, I'm the one who has to do it." Kongpob chuckled, patting the hands that tightened so much around him he felt like the was being constricted by a python. "You just have to follow me."
Before Arthit could respond, a thunderous voice echoed through the room they were in. "Welcome brave souls, you are about to delve deeper into the mysteries of the Tong Manor and the horrors that have taken place in this very house. Follow the light at all times and do not let yourself be distracted by the souls that roam freely around here. Otherwise, there is little we can do to ensure your safety..."
Kongpob smirked as he felt his husband bury his head upon his shoulder, the arms around him tightening with every word of the introduction that played all around them.
As the voice faded away, a small light lit up in the corner, showing them the way. Kongpob waddled somewhat uncomfortable, no thanks to the man who was clinging onto him for dear life.
"Here we go." He said before the two of them pushed past the curtains, deeper into the pure darkness of the room that awaited ahead.
