"I may be complicated and cold, but I am not a monster"

Melanie probably didn't have to explain that the atmosphere in the room was more than just unpleasant

Melanie probably didn't have to explain that the atmosphere in the room was more than just unpleasant. The air was thick and charged with tension that not even Zeus's storm, which was probably raging outside the underworld, could match. Percy was speechless. Annabeth was speechless. Grover was speechless. Melanie was eating grapes. Percy had no helmet. And the girl knew he had no idea how the master bolt had gotten into his damned backpack. Hell she thought he didn't even know the bolt looked like this.

She knew, Percy was played with. all the time he thought it was Hades. Hades is the bad guy, the king of the underworld, the root of all problems. It was easy to put the blame on someone who was always portrayed as the evil guy in all the stories. No one looked past the lies, no one saw the truth behind the words.

And while Melanie couldn't see behind the strange specimen that was Percy Jackson, she didn't realize that the boy she found so strange, knew more about her with just one glance that she wanted to admit. Gods, her father was gonna kill her. No wait, he was going to kill Percy, not his only daughter. He loved her too much for that. The son of Poseidon on the other hand - lets just say he won't be too lucky. And even if Melanie couldn't solve the puzzle behind the little shrimp, she definitely knew what was going through his head at the moment. It was as if she could taste the anger radiating of him. It settled on her tongue and made it prickle like citrus and tastes as bad as blood, spilled from innocent mortals.Percy was angry, shaken with the knowledge that he was fooled. it wasn't Hades. It was someone else. An immortal playing big three like puppets behind their backs. Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades had been set at each other's throats by someone else.

The master bolt had been in the backpack, and he had gotten the backpack from... Melanie's eyes sparkled with new found admiration. Gone was the indifferent look from her eyes as she looked at Percy, and how he solved the puzzle around the true traitor of Olympus."Lord Hades, wait," He said. "This is all a mistake."
