The first thing that greeted her, was the fresh smell of grapes she missed so much. After that followed the warm embrace of the people she loved the most. Two pairs of arms slung around her and blonde locks, so much like her own blessed her vision. Melanie sunk into the warmth of the hold, into the familarity of her home that broke down her icy walls she put up so desperatly. They melted into repair, forming an imaginary puddle under her feet. She didn't even feel it as her back hit the ground when she was thrown back, nor did she felt the weight of three more people that added on top of the human pile of arms and legs and blonde and brown-haired heads.
"You're alive," Castor breathed out as if he couldn't believe the words himself. Pollux just stayed quite, his purple eyes bored into Melanie's as if he wanted to burn her into his mind. Wanted to see that it was really his little sister before him and not that kind of impostor send from the death to torture him and his twin.
"I'm here," Melanie whispers, the sound faint but clear of certain. But everything changes over time. And Melanie certainly did. It wasn't just her hair that was wilder, tousling over her shoulder like a lion's mane or her outfit that was so different from the bright orange camp shirts. It was her eyes, her whole dementor and how she carried herself. Castor and Pollux could see it immediately. Their little sister had grown - faster than they appriciated. She wasn't the innocent girl anymore - to be fair, she never was - but it felt like she was more mature than before. She still had that evil and childish glint in her deep purple eyes - still had the mischievous she always carried around. But her posture was more straightened - her eyes more darker than original.
But under all that mature position, there was a certain hope. It shined as brigly as silver and glowed as polished amethysts under the moonlight of the darkest night. Melanie had fp and a purpose she would carry with her whole being until she would die. And that was what really changed about her. The thin line she balanced between life and death. The twins just hoped that someone would push her into the right direction and not into the abyss of onyx and fallen souls. This was the beginning of a new Era and everyone felt it before they knew and saw the changed.
