A smile tugged at my lips as I remembered the past day's activity. Who knew my boyfriend and.... best friend.... could get along so well. I frowned as I remembered how easily Corey'd said that, as if it was no biggie, nothing had happened all these years... With a sigh, I pushed away those thoughts and got dressed for school. Deciding on a Paramore band shirt with a sock monkey on it (it's so cute!), regular flared jeans, and my purple Vans as always, I skipped out of the house happily.

  "Geez, somebody's awfully perky."

  "Mhmm!"

  "Weird..."

"What? I'm not allowed to show that I'm happy? You always do it Adam!" I whined.

Scowling instead of shooting me his signature smile, he replied, "Shut up."

"Whoa. Hold it right there mister. Who took a piss in your Cheerios?"

  "Mmmhphhh", came Adam's incoherent reply.

  "Sommmmmeeeebody's PMSing!", I drawled out.

  "Shut up Belle."

  "Wow, seriously what's wrong Adam?"

Hesitating for a moment, he finally said "Eli.".

  "What?? What happened??"

"He wants to take a little road trip to Mississippi for a week."

I let out a sigh of relief. I'd thought that Eli had hurt Adam or something. "So?"

"And he's pretty much forcing me to go with him..."

"Ooh! Then go! A roadtrip sounds fun. When is it?"

Glaring at me in a way that said 'Not helping', Adam moodily replied. "He wants to leave tomorrow..."

That froze me in my tracks. "Wait. What?"

"That's exactly what I said! He even got the forms filled out for the school leave or whatever!"

I was unsure of what to say. I mean, it's not everyday you get a free trip to Mississippi, right? But then again, a week without Adam... I sighed. "This better be a damn amazing trip you're going on since you don't get to see my awesome face for a week!" I said teasingly.

Looking at me surprised, he asked, "You don't mind?"

Ouch, that sorta hurts my pride, and makes me sound like a clingy girlfriend. Was I a clingy girlfriend? Oh god, how embarrassing would that be if people thought I was?

"You're not a clingy girlfriend, don't worry," Adam laughed. My face heated up as I realized I'd said that out loud.

"Shit. Um. Thanks. And don't worry bout me, I don't care. Go have some fun!"

Adam smiled brightly as he went to go give the good news to Eli. Turns out, he wasn't mad about not knowing until the last second. He was scared I was going to be mad myself. He was so relieved when I wasn't. My mind wandered off for a few seconds until I heard someone calling my name and I turned around to see Corey. Making some small talk, I realized something. If Adam was gone, I'd have to face Corey by myself this whole week. And knowing him, that never was a good thing.

A/N: So, it's not too exciting, but I'm setting up for other scenes. Least, that's what I tell myself when I pretend like I know what I'm doing...
