You woke up early to clean your apartment and make a nice lunch then got dressed to look nice. Your boyfriend Namjoon had been away for months to study abroad and he was finally coming back today. You missed him a lot and wanted to give him a warm welcome home. It was almost noon and he should be here any minute. You prayed some last minute perfume and waited around for Namjoon. A few minutes later, you heard the door open and some shuffling. "(Y/n), I'm home!" Namjoon yelled. You smiled and ran out to meet him. "Namjoon!" You opened your arms and jumped into his. He hugged you tight and you breathed in his scent. "I missed you so much!" You said. You and Namjoon hugged until you heard someone clear their throat. You looked over and saw a girl standing in the door, waving at you. You slowly let go of Namjoon and furrowed your eyebrows. "Um, hello. And you are?" "(Y/n), this is Kate. We used to be best friends when we were little. Turns out she was studying abroad at the same university I was. We just so happened to cross paths again. Since our studying is over, she thought it would be a good idea to rekindle. I thought maybe she could stay in our spare room for a few days until she goes back home. Is that okay?" You were a little shocked. "Um, sure, th-that's fine." Kate smiled. "Oh (y/n), I heard so much about you. It's nice to finally meet you." She pulled you into an unexpected hug. You fake smiled and awkwardly patted her back. "Come on Kate, I'll show you to your room." Kate gave you another smile and followed Namjoon to the spare room. You just stood there looking around. 'What just happened?' You asked yourself. A few minutes later, they both came out, Kate was clinging onto his arm. "Um, I made lunch." You said. "Thanks babe. I'm starving." Namjoon kissed your cheek and you, him, and Kate started eating. "So Kate, Namjoon told me all about his study abroad experience, what about you?" You asked, trying to make friendly conversation. "Oh it was awesome. Then when I found out Namjoon was there, it was 10 times better." She smiled and poked Namjoon's shoulder and he grinned. You slowly nodded. "I see." The rest of your meal, Kate kept butting in and talking to Namjoon, completely ignoring you. You thought it was best to not get mad since they are rekindling after all. Namjoon left for a minute to go to the bathroom and Kate's entire demeanor changed. "So, how long have you and Namjoon been friends?" You asked. She scoffed. "Why do you care?" You leaned back and tiled your head. "Um, I'm just curious. I mean, you are-" "Listen, I love Namjoon. When he moved away, I was heartbroken. But now that he's back in my life, I'm going to make sure that he doesn't leave. I will do anything and destroy everything that stands in my way. That includes you." She smirked and you scoffed. "Look you little-" "I'm back!" Namjoon said. "Yay!" Kate said, smiling. For the rest of the day, Kate never left Namjoon's side. After a while, you got tired and stepped out onto the balcony and called your friend. You told her everything that happened. "What?! You have to tell Namjoon!" She yelled. "I can't! He'll just think I'm being a jealous girlfriend." You mumbled. "Well you can't let the girl talk to you like that." You sighed. "I know." "Oh, there you are. It's late, are you coming to bed?" Namjoon said through the door. You looked passed him and saw Kate with an angry face. "Um, yeah, I'll be right in. I'll call you tomorrow." You hung up the phone and went to bed with Namjoon. You could see the jealousy in Kate's face because of the fact that at the end of the day, you still get to sleep in the same bed with him. "Are you okay (y/n)? You've been quiet all day." He said. "I'm fine." You both pulled the covers back and got into bed. "Look, you're not mad that I didn't tell you Kate was coming, are you? I just figured that maybe you would like to have another girl friend, you know?" "I'm not mad." "Are you sure?" "Goodnight Namjoon." You turned over and turned the lamp off and went to sleep. The next morning, Namjoon wasn't there. You sat up and rolled your eyes. As you left your room, you expected to see him and Kate on the couch making stupid kissy faces, but they weren't there. You huffed and noticed that Namjoon's keys were missing. You went back to your room to get your phone to call him when the front door opened. Namjoon and Kate came in laughing and wearing work-out clothes and carrying smoothies. "Hey, you're awake." Namjoon kissed your cheek and handed you a smoothie. "Me and Kate went to work out. I was going to ask if you wanted to come but you were still sleeping and we didn't want to wake you. You scoffed quietly. 'Sure. She was just waiting until the two if them were alone. She was probably all like 'Oh Namjoon, can you help me? I can't get the right form.' Just so he can put her hands on her filthy body.' You thought. "We missed you." She said. You fake smiled. "I'm sure you did." Later that night, the city was holding their annual fireworks show in honor of the day the city was founded. You and Namjoon have been going together for the past 4 years, even before you started dating. "Namjoon, we're still going to see the fireworks right?" You asked. "Of course, but Ka-" "I know, Kate has to come with us." You mumbled. He looked confused. "Are you okay?" "No! I don't want her to come." "Why not?" "Because she's not good! You should've heard what she told me yesterday. 'I'm gonna take Namjoon back and I'll destroy anything in my way including you.' She's crazy!" "Oh come on, maybe you're just being paranoid." You scoffed. "You know what? You'll see for yourself eventually." You walked to the park. Namjoon had the blanket in one hand and you held the bag of snacks. You took your free hand and grabbed Namjoon's as you walked side-by-side. Your goal was to get Kate to do something, and she did. Kate suddenly came in between you two. "Namjoon, I'm so excited, I haven't seen fireworks in a while." She said. You fake smiled and reached past her and grabbed Namjoon's arm, pulling him right up to your side. You smirked and kept walked and Kate scoffed and crossed her arms. When you got to the park, Namjoon set out the blanket and you sat down near the edge and Namjoon was about to sit next to you, but Kate took his place so you couldn't be by each other. You rolled your eyes and stuffed your face with some fruit snacks. As the fireworks started, everyone was in awe. After about 10 minutes, Kate got up to stretch a little and saw someone walking past with a drink. She smirked and took the opportunity to "accidentally" trip him and make the drink spill all over you. You gasped and stood up slowly. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" He said. You looked at Kate who was stifling a laugh and pretending to be surprised. "Oops." She said. Namjoon left to go get napkins from the food stand just down the hill. "You did that on purpose you little wench." You said. She feigned hurt. "Ouch. That's what you get. I told you that I was going to get Namjoon back and that I'll get rid of anything in my way. Trust me, I'll have you running out that door so fast you won't even know what hit you. I'm sure Namjoon loves me. The only reason he's with you is to get over me. So now that I'm back, there's no need for you anymore, princess." "What?" Her eyes widened and she turned around. "N-Namjoon. I-" "Save it. Kate, I thinks it's best if you leave." "What, why? I don't understand." "You can't talk to my girlfriend like that. We were friends and nothing more. Now I see what (y/n) was talking about." "No-she-ugh! Where am I supposed to go then, huh?" "There's a hotel around here, go stay there." Your firework watcing was short lived as you all went back to your apartment and Kate packed up her stuff. "I hope you realized what you lost." She said to Namjoon. "Yeah, a real diamond." You shut the door in her face and sighed. Namjoon back hugged you and kissed your neck. "I'm sorry I didn't believe you." You stayed quiet and he turned you around. "I was just excited to see her and, I don't know, I was blinded I guess." "I'm still mad at you. Why would you bring her here without consulting me first?" He hugged you. "I'm sorry. Can you forgive me?" He kissed your nose. "Fine. Now? Can I bring my friend Daniel over?" "Uh, s-sure, sweetie." "He won't hit on me, he's gay." Namjoon sighed in relife. "Okay, wait, but what if he hits on me?" You laughed and kissed him.
