"Mommy, watch me!" I looked up from the shirt I was folding while sitting on the couch and saw my 5 year old son about to jump in the laundry basket. "Soonyoung, don't do that-" "Ahh!" He ignored me and jumped in the basket. I set the shirt down and picked him up out of the basket. "Don't do that, and keep it down. You'll wake daddy up." I said. "Why is daddy still sleeping? It's so late!" He said, pouting. "Daddy has been working hard this week, he needs to rest." I said. Soonyoung looked over and smiled "Daddy!" He ran into his father's arms and Jimin picked him up. "Hey buddy." He said. "Did he wake you?" I asked. "No." Jimin rubbed his eyes and I couldn't help but feel bad. "Soonyoung, go finis eating." I said. He got down and went to the table. Jimin came over to me and gave me a good morning kiss. "What are you doing?" "Laundry." I said, sitting back down. He made noises and he stretched and sat next to me. "I have to go in today." He said. I stopped what I was doing and looked at him. "What? But it's your day off." I said. "Yeah, but Taehyung can't go in today so I'm gonna cover part of his shift and Seungcheol is gonna cover the other part." I sighed and he rubbed my back. "I'll only be gone for about 3 or 4 hours." "Yeah but you've been working all week, can't Seungcheol just cover the whole shift?" "Well he's been working all week too, we just figured we would split it." "What sense does that make?" "It's more money, (y/n)." He said. I rolled my eyes. "Who cares about the money? I want you to rest." By now I was done folding the laundry and set the basket aside. "You know we could use it." He said. I looked at him and sighed. "I guess, but do you have to go?" I curled up next to him and he put his arm around me, kissing my forehead. "It'll just be for a little while." "Fine." "Mommy, I want more pancakes!" Soonyoung yelled from the dining room. I was about to get up but Jimin stopped me. "I'll get him." After about and hour and a half, Jimin got dressed in his cargo pants and black tshirt. He was putting his boots on when I came over and hugged him. "Be safe." I said, closing my eyes. "I'm just gonna be working at the station. I mean, what are the odds of there being a fire around here while I'm there?" He asked. "Don't jinx it!" I said. "I've been a firefighter for what- 4 years? I know how to be careful when it comes to fighting fires." "Yeah well you never know." I mumbled. He hugged me tight and called Soonyoung over. He kissed me and hugged Soonyoung. "Why can't you just stay here? I wanna play outside with you." Soonyoung said. "I'll play with you when I get home okay? I'll be back soon." He kissed him on his forehead and stood up straight. "I'll see you later." "I love you." "I love you too." Jimin gave me one last kiss before leaving. I sighed and stood there for a minute. I always worry about Jimin being firefighter. He's been in many fires, but I can't help but worry. Who wouldn't? I always make sure to tell him I love him everyday just in case. Heaven forbid something happen to him.

Jimin's POV

"Morning Jimin." "Morning Namjoon." I walked through the station to the kitchen and made some coffee. "Today, we gotta fill out our reports for-" He was cut off by the alarm. Makes me jump out of my skin everytime. "God. Anna, address!" He ran to our secretary and I ran out with Jackson and Yongguk to the truck. We were getting our gear on and Namjoon followed soon after. "We got a factory fire, let's go!" We all hopped in the truck and Namjoon turned the sirens on and raced to the address. (Y/n)'s voice telling me to be safe rang through my head. I always think of her and Soonyoung whenever we get a call about a fire. About 10 minutes later, I started seeing black smoke. The police had already blocked off traffic to keep people from getting too close and and ambulance was coming from the other direction. We stopped and hopped out of the truck. I ran and grabbed a hose and Jackson hooked it up to a fire hydrant. "You're good!" He yelled. I looked up at the burning building and pulled back the lever back on the hose. The water pressure almost made me lose my balance, but I planted my feet firmly on the ground. "You gave to go in, I think people are still inside!" I heard a frantic worker yell. I looked over at Jackson. "Jackson! Come grab this!" He ran over to me and grabbed in. "What are you gonna do?" He asked. "I'm going in." "You can't go in alone! Everyone has a hose! Just wait until backup from the other station-" "No! Those people need my help, I can't make them wait!" I started running into the building. My name was being called, but I ignored it and ran inside. I made sure my mask and helmet was secure and started looking around. "Hello?!" I yelled. "Help!" There was a weak, very faint voice, but I couldn't tell where it was coming from. "Keep yelling so I can find you!" I yelled. The voice called out again and it sounded like it came from the starewell. I jumped over some burning beams that fell and made it to the stairs. I ran up and looked around the second floor. "Hello!" I yelled. "Over here!" It still sounded faint so I went up another floor, and another until I saw a woman cornered by blazing beams. They were crackling and red and falling apart. "Hold on, I'm gonna get you!" I looked around for something to move them with, but found nothing useful. I had no choice so I kicked them out of the way. I don't know if it was the heat or the adrenaline, but I felt sweat running down my face. "Jimin!" I looked over and saw Namjoon running towards me. "I got someone!" I yelled. I was able to get the women out safely. "Wait, there's someone else. I think she's upstairs." She said. "Namjoon, take her out, I got this." I said. "Jimin no, I'll-" "No! I got this, just get out of here!" I yelled. I started running up the stairs and called out. I heard another voice and went up another 2 or 3 floors, I lost count. "Is anyone here?!" "Y-yes!" A woman was laying on the floor with a file cabinet crushing her. She looked like she was gonna pass out. I gave her an oxygen mask and pushed the file cabinet off of her. I help her stand up but she couldn't keep her balance. I picked her up and stared carefully running towards the stairs. At that moment, the floor started cracking and Namjoon showed back up. "Jimin, give her here." He ran to us but I yelled at him to stop. "What is it?" I knew that if there was anymore weight where I was standing, the floor would cave in. "Jimin, talk to me we don't have time!" He yelled. I slowly walked over to him, carefully planning my steps. I handed her over to Namjoon, and at that moment, there was an explosion in another part of the building. The vibration made me lose my balance and I fell right back where I felt the floor crack. It was getting worse and Namjoon noticed. "Jimin, get out of there!" He yelled. I couldn't move. He set the woman down in the safest spot and inched his way towards me. He held his hand out, trying to stay as far away from the crack as possible. I couldn't reach him, so I carefully scooted closer to him. I reached my hand out. Out fingertips touched. As soon as I thought I was safe, I saw Namjoon disappearing above me. "Be safe." She said. "I love you." She said. I love you too, but I think I may have let you down at that first part.

Your POV

I tried to calm Soonyoung down as he was jumping all over the place. "I'm a cowboy!" He yelled. "Soonyoung, please-" My phone started to ring and I sighed. I grabbed it and it was Jimin's chief Namjoon. My heart dropped. He would only ever call me if there was an emergency. Soonyoung was still yelling. "Soonyoung, calm down! Hello?" There was a long pause. "Hello?" I asked again. "(Y/n)." He said. "Yes? What is it Namjoon?" I heard him sigh. "Jimin, he-" his voice cracked my blood turned cold. "W-what about Jimin?" "I'm sorry. I should've protected him, he was one of my men!" He yelled. My heart started pounding and Soonyoung was still yelling. "Soonyoung, quiet!" I yelled. He stopped and sat down. "Namjoon, w-what are you saying?!" "It's all my fault, I shouldn't have let him go!" He was crying and I felt like passing out. "Namjoon?" Tears poured down my face. "Is Jimin okay? Please tell me he's okay. He's okay, right?!" "Jimin is dead!" He yelled. My bottom lip quivered and I fell to the floor. "Jimin is dead and it's all my fault! I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" "J-Jimin-" "He wanted to save her, but I should've went instead. It should've been me! I'm so sorry (y/n)! I'm just, oh god." I dropped the phone and looked over at Soonyoung who was watching tv. I took a deep breath and screamed. Soonyoung jumped and looked over at me. "Mommy, what's wrong?" He ran over and grabbed my face in his tiny hands. I grabbed him and pulled him into a tight hug, sobbing. I couldn't control my breathing and my body shook violently. He was just here. Jimin was just here 2 hours ago. "Soonyoung." I said. "Daddy, he-" I couldn't. I couldn't tell Soonyoung that his father, the man he looked up to, the man he loved, was never coming home again. He would be crushed. A part of him would die inside, like me. A little boy shouldn't have tone go through something like this. I didn't have the heart to tell him. "Daddy won't be coming home today." I said. I tried to stay strong, but I couldn't. I cried even harder and Soonyoung starred to cry. "He's not coming home? Why not? Where did he go?" "He went someone far away. Somewhere better than here." I patted his hair down and sniffed. "When will he be back?" He asked. "He won't be here for a while." I said. "Well why didn't he take us with him?" I cried even harder but my inner psychotic started to come out. "Do you wanna see him?" I asked. He nodded and rubbed his eyes. I had no idea what was coming over me, but my mental state became cloudy and I stood up. I grabbed Soonyoung and took him to my room. "We're gonna see daddy real soon." I whispered. "Stand here. Don't turn around, okay?" My voice was shaky, but I tried to keep calm. I walked into the closet and pulled put the gun that Jimin had for protection. I picked up the heavy, cold metal peice and opened it to see it had three bullets in it. I walked back over to Soonyoung and stopped. He was facing the wall and hot tears ran down my cheeks. "Soonyoung. You want to see daddy right?" I asked. "Yes." He said, his voice cracking. My heart ached and I lifted a shaky hand up and pointed the gun directly to the back of Soonyoung's head. My heart beat 100 miles a minute and I put my finger on the trigger. "Don't." A voice snapped me back to reality and I dropped the gun. It sounded just like Jimin. I started hyperventilating and I quickly unloaded the gun and put it back. I ran over to Soonyoung and hugged him. "I'm sorry Soonyoung, but we can't see daddy right now." I said. "Why not?" I sighed and wiped his tears. "I'll tell you someday. Mommy just can't right now." I whispered. "Daddy!" Soonyoung yelled. Confused, I looked over at where Soonyoung ran off to. I saw Jimin standing in the doorway of our room. "Hey buddy!" He said. I was frozen. "J-Jimin?" I asked. He held his arms open and I ran into them. "Oh my god, but I thought-" I was trying to get my thoughts together and I frantically looked around. My eyes landed on two figures lying on the ground. "No." I whispered. Mine and Soonyoung's bodies were lying lifeless on the ground. "I told you not to do it." Jimin said. I backed up until I hit the wall. "But you already did it. There's no going back." He said. "It's okay though, because now we're together again." Jimin smiled brightly and grabbed my hand and walked into the light.
