"Gooooood morning, Beacon Hills! And what a good morning it is. Eight ten on this fine day of August twen—" The radio announcer blared as a sound faded out. I tuned out the radio as I adjusted the black sunglasses perched on the bridge of my nose. I mad a left, driving particularly fast in my brand new, shiny black RAV4 while on the way to the first day of my junior year. That's right, it was a brand new school year. A new year, principal—bye, bye Gerard!—new classes, new students, new werewolf problems, and apparently for Scott, new ink. The teen wolf had dragged Stiles to a tattoo parlor last night to get inked on his arm. Of course I had been invited too, but I naturally declined. The last time the three of us went out on the night before school it ended in Scott being bit by an Alpha, and we all know how that turned out. Speaking of Alpha werewolves, Derek and I survived the summer...mostly. And by that I mean we were still together. Kind of. We were just taking a break from seeing each other at the moment. It was a mutual agreement, which I had thought was pretty logical. The Alphas were watching us; they were watching Derek. As they were getting closer and closer to Derek, he thought it'd be a good idea for us to not see each other until he had control of the situation so I didn't get hurt. Again. Derek didn't want me involved with them and he sure as hell didn't want any of the Alpha's finding out about me. He was looking out for me and even if I was sad to agree with him that we had to cut each other off for the moment, I knew it had to happen. Most of my summer was spent with Derek—helping or spending time with him. I washed his car a few times, and I had awoken up in the bed in his new apartment more times than I could count on my fingers. I had repainted the front door, well at least one side of it, to the Hale house to cover up the Alpha's symbol. We didn't need anyone asking questions, especially Scott and Stiles. I had made a promise to Derek not to tell the two about the big, bad Alpha secret since he didn't want them worrying about it. They wanted them to have a normal summer, and life and not worry about the oncoming danger. I agreed, we had worried more than we should have in our entire life the past few months. Sure, I was worried as hell about the fact that we had a pack of Alpha's roaming around our town. I was unsure of what any of them looked like; they were blank slates in my mind waiting to be filled in. And as much as I'd prefer to keep their faces little grey bubbles in my mind, I knew they were going to be filled in sooner than later. It sucked. The summer did bring good things, though. Don't get me wrong there were tons of moments that I enjoyed. It was unbearably hot, so that gave me excuses to model around the several pairs of short-shorts, revealing tank tops, and wedges I bought. The summer also brought this car, which when I first got it jokingly called it the pack mobile since Derek used it often to haul Peter, Isaac, and I around. It brought plenty of bonding time with Scott and Stiles, even Isaac sometimes too. We're close now. I forgave him for trying to kill me that one time at Scott's. I also managed to have a lot of alone time with Derek since Isaac and Peter had gone off in search of Boyd and Erica days after days.
