I stared out the window of Derek's loft with my arms crossed tightly over my chest. I couldn't help but look back on the events from last night and thank my lucky stars everyone made it out alive.
Apparently, there was a calm after the storm.
Everything was finally dying down and it put me at ease. With Jennifer gone, I couldn't be happier. But—there was always a but—there was one thing gnawing away at my mind. It was one thing Derek and I didn't dare to bring up yet: me changing into a werewolf for the duration of the eclipse. I had asked Derek before we managed to pass out on his bed last night if he knew what I was, but he shook his head with much disappointment. He wanted to know just as bad as I did. And if Jennifer was the only one who knew, well, our chance of ever finding out came to a dead end. Literally. But somehow, I felt like she wasn't the only one to have that knowledge. I was just waiting for a certain someone to pay a visit to Derek's loft to see if I was right.
"You've got that look." Derek walked back into the room, looking at my concentrated stare.
"What look?" I asked, walking to a nearby chair and taking a seat.
"That look like you're planning something." Derek knew me to well. I had planned something, and that plan was already in motion. The plan should be walking in the door any second now. And just like that, he did.
"The witch is dead, the parents are saved, and Beacon Hills is safe once again—well, as safe as it can be with us roaming around." Peter chuckled as he busted into the loft. Derek looked at me, already knowing why I invited one of my worst enemies into the same room as me. I glared Peter right in the eyes
"And what could I help you with today Miss Katherine?"
"Start talking." I demanded in a low voice.
"Alright, let's see. About what? Scott being the new alpha, how wonderful those jeans fit you, or ooh, here's a good one, how about you and my nephews sex life?" Peter smirked. Usually, I'd throw something right at him or threaten to slit his throat. But now wasn't the time. All I want was answers.
"About what happened last night." Derek spoke. A wide, suspicious smile spread across Peter's face.
"So it did happen. How was your fifteen minutes of fame?" He wondered. I stood up from the chair I was sitting in and took a defensive stance.
