"Ow. Ow. Ow. Can you not? I can still feel things, you know!" I barked at the male nurse who was stitching up my thigh after plucking out a large piece of glass.
"Katherine..." Derek raised a brow at me, hoping I'd stop being stubborn at some point tonight. I wanted nothing more than to get out of this hospital—but thankfully I didn't have to return to a jail cell. My name was cleared by Agent McCall, so, I currently wasn't under suspicion for murder. I wish I could say the same for Derek though. They had an officer—specifically Parrish—stationed right outside our E.R room waiting to come back and handcuff him after he was "being checked out". I thanked the Lord Melissa had tricked the officer into letting Derek in here, mostly because he wasn't aware of my presence. Personally, Parrish didn't think Derek needed a doctor. Nobody did.
No one could figure out why he was the only one who came out of the explosion okay.
"Derek's right you know," Melissa came walking into the ER room I was in, "we're just trying to help." She hugged her clipboard tightly to her chest.
"Yeah, well, I have more important places to be right now." I huffed back. The nurse finished his stitching job and exited the room, happy to be done with my bitching and me. Melissa sighed and waited for him to shut the door.
"Well congratulations, there's not too much damage for a bomb explosion—"
"Great, can I go now?" I interrupted.
"But..." Melissa eyed me and turned her attention back to the clipboard, "you do have hyperacusis from being so close to it."
"English, please." I snapped. My eyes shifted to the clock mounted on the wall. I needed to get out of here.
"The ringing you hear. Your eardrums were injured from such over-sensitivity to sound and frequency. You need to stay away from loud noises for a while or you can lose your hearing. Okay? I'm going to have Doctor Reese come in and give you the the rest of your information."
"Okay, this is ridiculous." I stood up in the beautified glory of my hospital gown and reached for my clothes. "I don't have time to talk about this. If Stiles' is really on his way to Eichen House right now, Scott isn't going to be able to stop him alone."
"Honey," Melissa sat me back down on the edge of the hospital bed, "Scott's going to do the best he can. Whether you're there or not, Stiles is going to do what he wants." She assured me. My lips formed a straight line and I nodded my head. "Okay, Doctor Reese will be in, in a few minutes. Watch her, please." Melissa ordered Derek. He stifled a smile on his lips and nodded. The second Melissa closed the curtain and shut the door to the room; I ripped off my hospital gown and threw on a fresh shirt. I hissed as I pulled my leggings up over the fresh stitches in my thigh. God damn, maybe I should have opted for some shorts.
