ABOUT:
Sushiis a Japanese food consisting of cooked vinegared rice combined with other ingredients seafood, vegetables and sometimes tropical fruits.
Recipe cook Time: 45 mins. (includes cooking time for rice).
INGREDIENTS:
1) 1/3 cup cooked Japanese sushi rice (or sticky rice).
2) 1 sheet roasted seaweed.
3) 1 teaspoon Rice vinegar.
4) 1 teaspoon Soy sauce.
5) 1 small Carrot, julienned.
6) A couple strips of cucumber.
7) 1 teaspoon Pickled ginger.
8) 1-3 small, marinated mushrooms.
9) 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds.
METHOD:
1) Lay bamboo sushi mat and place the seaweed (shiny side down) on the mat.
2) Spoon about 1/3 cup of rice onto the seaweed and pat it down with wet fingers. Leave one inch (on the bottom of the sheet) without rice.
3) Then add soy sauce and rice vinegar (equal amounts) by sprinkling it lightly over the rice.
4) Add your veggies by lining them up in rows, close together.
5) Roll it up using the sushi mat.
6) And then you slice it up into 1-1 1/2 inch thick slice.
7) Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds.
SUGGESTION:
Hold the edge of the mat with your thumbs, then lift the seaweed and roll the sushi away from you.
Make sure to keep the ingredients in place and that the rice sticks together.
