Chapter 7: A Time of Connection

~Normal POV~

-English-

"Alright class, I know that wasn't a lot of time to work on your poems but their due the day after tomorrow. I suggest you bring them home and work on them with your partner." Mr Berk explained.

"You wanna come to my house to work on it?" Amy asked Sonic.

"Sure I'd love to." Sonic said.

*The bell rings and everyone starts to leave.*

-Later at Amy's house-

"Hey mom I'm home!" Amy called as she came in with Sonic.

"Hi dear, Amy's mom said. "Oh, I didn't know you brought company."

"Yah, remember Sonic? We have an English assignment to work on."

"Yes I can't forget Sonic," Amy's mom giggled. "Its been a long time. How are you Sonic?"

"Pretty good Mrs Rose. It has been a long time."

"That's good. Well you two have fun. I'll just be in the kitchen."

"Alright thanks mom!" Amy said. "Come on Sonic I'll show you my room." Amy lead Sonic to her room.

"Well, welcome to my world." Amy said as she showed him her room.

"Wow, it's really cute." He smiled.

"Really? Thanks!" She blushed and smiled back. "So.."

"Should we work in here?"

"Yah sure.. I'll get the stuff." Amy got out some paper and pencils.

"Here you, I brought you two a snack." Crystal said and gave them a bowl of chips.

"Yumm." Sonic said and dung in.

Amy giggled. He's so cute. She thought.

Things started to get awkward.

"Umm I'm just gonna start writing now." Amy said blushing.

"Y-yeah me too." Said Sonic.

"So what are you writing your poem about?" Sonic asked.

"Um I don't really know yet. What about you?"

"Honestly, I have no idea. Here this is what I have so far." He showed her a drawing of an obese bulldog.

Sonic and Amy started to laugh. "It looks like Coach Irons!" Amy laughed.

"Ha ha ha yeah I don't really know. I'm not really good at this kind of stuff."

"That's ok I can help you! We don't have to start working right away. We have some time."

"Cool, I can't think of anything." Sonic pushed the papers out of the way. "So Amy, I haven't seen you in a really long time and you seem to have changed a lot. Tell me about your life on the little planet."

"You sure? Well ok..." Amy began to tell him about her years of living on the little planet.

Later they talked and laughed. Amy felt like she knew the Sonic she once fell in love with again.

"Amy, Sonic it's time for supper!" Amy's mom called.

"Alright mom!" Amy called.
"He he, that was a really funny story Sonic. Come on." Amy said, and they went to eat.

-At supper-

"This looks really good Mr and Mrs Rose." Sonic said, taking a seat next to Amy.

"Why thank you Sonic." Crystal smiled.

"How's the assignment coming?" Amy's dad asked.

Amy giggled. "Oh it's going good."

They began to eat when Sonic's phone started to wring.

"Oh sorry about that." Sonic said pulling his phone out from his pocket.

"That's alright sweetie. Go ahead and answer it." Crystal said.

Sonic stepped away to answer his phone.

"So honey, do you like Sonic?"Crystal asked. "We know how much you used to."

"What? Mom! No! We're just friends. Not even that." Amy said embarrassedly.

"Right." Amy's dad snickered.

Sonic came back. "I'm so sorry, that was my mom. I have to get home."

"Oh that's ok. Um I'll walk you to the door." Amy said as she got up and they walked to the door.

"Well it was nice having you." Amy smiled.

"Yeah it was fun." Sonic smiled back.

"Maybe next time we can actually get some work done." Amy giggled.

"Ha ha yah... we should... do this again sometime."

"I'd love to." Amy smiled again.

"I... I think I might have something to tell you." Sonic leaned closer.

"Yah I think I do too." Amy leaned in to.

Sonics phone started to wring again.

"Oh... uh...sorry... one sec.," Sonic pulled out his phone from his pocket.

"Oh hey Sally... What? You have something to tell me? Really? Ok well I have something to tell you too...
ok ok... alright bye."
Sonic hung up. "Sorry that was Sally."

"It's fine... so what did you wanna tell me?"

"Well... I think I have to do something first. How about I come find you tomorrow and tell you then."

"Okay. Well see you around Sonic."

"Bye Amy," He waved and ran down sidewalk.

I can't wait until tomorrow! Amy thought.
