"How could you?"

Blaine nudged his foot, shutting the wooden door behind him. He blatantly threw his keys onto his bed as he walked into their- his room.

Nick turned around to look at the shorter boy, his hands pausing from their folding of white collared shirts. "Excuse me?"

"You know what I mean," Blaine responded as he crossed his arms, a little unsettled by his unusual defensive attitude. "Did you not see what happened in the corridor yesterday afternoon?"

"You're upset about that?" Nick raised an eyebrow, returning to his shirts. "You didn't say anything last night."

"Well, that's because I was still processing the whole situation. But now I don't need to process any more because I know it was you!" Blaine pointed a finger at him.

"You're going to have to be more specific..." Nick rolled his eyes.

Blaine marched right over to his roommate and spun him around to look in his eyes. "I told you that you weren't supposed to say anything about Kurt. You're the only one who knew besides me! And now thanks to you, everyone in school is talking about him. It's Kurt's private business, behind his back. And it's not cool."

"Not everyone is talking about him," Nick replied with a shrug. "I mean, I only told a few of the guys. They must've, I dunno, spread the word about a couple things. But it's only because everyone wants to know what parallel universe we have to be living in. Now that the Blaine Anderson is hanging out with Dalton's Most Wanted!"

"Don't call him that," Blaine growled. "Kurt only got angry because he didn't want people spreading lies. He'd rather have people confronting him themselves! And it's all your fault!"

"Blaine, he got angry because of you," Nick shot back. "He broke the school policy! You could've gotten hurt, a lot more than you did. And I even warned you. I said that one day you would become the one he was fighting, but I suppose that day came sooner than we both thought."

"Well I hope you're happy," he frowned, going back to flop onto his own bed. "Because now 'Dalton's Most Wanted' is replacing you in our room."

"It's not mine anymore," Nick reminded him. "Have fun telling stories with your friend Kurt. If you need me, I'll be on the next floor with Justin Rodgers in the junior hall."

Blaine slumped back, soaking in the silence between the two as Nick continued to pack his things.

"I just don't get it," Nick sighed. He finished shoving the remaining clothes into his spare duffel bags. "You used to obsess over books and grades and stuff like that. Now you just obsess over this stupid new guy."

"Nick, I-"

"Don't," he turned around. After slinging his bags over his shoulders and collecting what he could in his arms, Nick looked to Blaine. "I know you're going to keep doing what you're doing. Just don't expect me to have anything to say about it anymore."

Blaine's gaze fell to his hands in his lap, until he heard the door open and Nick's voice sounded again.

"Oh. Whoops. Uh... he's all yours."

His eyes flashed over to the open doorway. Nick had come face-to-face with another full-handed boy standing in the corridor.

Blaine watched the awkward exchange of silence as Kurt said nothing. They shuffled past each other with their wide loads, both of them unsure of who was getting the worse deal with the rooming situation. The boys nodded hesitantly to each other once they had made it to their own side.
