Nestled just off the southern shores of North Carolina, Corbet's Inlet was founded in 1902 by Sir Henry Fletcher Corbet. An avid golfer, Corbet looked to retire to the coast after the sale of his family's esteemed architectural business. He purchased a private barrier island outside of Wilmington and got to work on designing the blueprint for what would eventually become one of the most prestigious golf courses in the world: The Links at Corbet's Inlet.

Over a century later, the island of Corbet's Inlet boasts one of the richest and most vibrant summer colony communities in the Southeast. Built around The Links, now a perennial world-renowned golf course, the community hosts a multitude of events every season, including the Corbet's Inlet Classic: a celebrity Pro-Am charity golf tournament that raises millions of dollars for the Henry Fletcher Corbet Scholarship Foundation.

The Corbet's Inlet Country Club and the island's Home Owners Association also sponsor a variety of charity benefits throughout the season that bring together both the summer locals and visitors alike. The community recognizes its founding every year in a week-long celebration during the last week of July, including carnivals, nightly firework displays, barbecues and cookouts, and an annual regatta in the Corbet's Inlet sound.

Corbet's Inlet is consistently ranked among the most sought-after summer colony destinations on the east coast, and The Links at Corbet's Inlet remains within the top 3 private golf courses in the continental United States. The island strictly prohibits vacation home rentals, but lodging is available through CICC's The Residence, a charming bed and breakfast and events space that offers thirty-five beautiful beachside suites and villas.

*Please note: reservations at The Residence must be made two years in advance.*
