HELLO, BEAUTIFUL WATTPADDERS!

M, G, A, & L here from wfuseniorproject, just casually breaking the 4th wall again. We're very sorry to head-fake you like this, especially after how much we've thoroughly enjoyed reading all your comments about the ending of the most recent chapter...

BUT FEAR NOT.

We have some exciting news, which also includes information on when you can expect the ending to this wild rollercoaster of a story. So sit tight.

We know we haven't given you much of a backstory on what exactly we're doing here. You've left so many amazing messages on our profile, and again, we can't tell you guys how much we appreciate your love and enthusiasm for what started out as a simple college project among friends. So here's the skinny on us:

We're four Wake Forest University students conducting research for our senior theses. Specifically, conducting research on serialized fiction and how websites like Wattpad are changing the traditional publishing landscape. It's been fascinating so far, and the best part about it has been interacting with you delightful humans. So allow us to formally introduce ourselves:

M is our resident tech junky and grammar nerd who is usually the one hanging out in forums, collecting insight and data, and responding to your A++++ comments

M is our resident tech junky and grammar nerd who is usually the one hanging out in forums, collecting insight and data, and responding to your A++++ comments.

G is our resident content guru who has allowed us an unabashed look into her own personal journals to create this story for you all (that's right—Corbet's is based on a true story. We'll get to that in a sec.) She's also pretty baller with cross-platform content analytics. Don't let the blonde hair fool you.

A is our resident English Lit snob and self-proclaimed story statistic analyst. His favorite thing in life right now is seeing Corbet's reach a new country every time he checks the daily stats (which he checks, like, every five minutes).

L is our resident down-to-earther who's helping organize all this chaos and spin our findings into final presentation gold that will blow. people's. minds.

AND SPEAKING OF WHICH!!!!

We mentioned a second ago that this all has been in the name of our senior theses, and that is still 100% true (though I think all of us will be hanging out on Wattpad for much longer after all this is over). One of the many senior thesis requirements to fulfill is putting together a presentation of our findings and, in a way, demonstrating said findings. And we couldn't think of any better way to do that than to get you fabulous, patient, wonderful readers involved.

So we would love nothing more than to INVITE YOU ALL to either attend our presentation at 1PM EST on Friday, December 6th 2019 at Wake Forest University, or tune into our livestream of the presentation on YouTube (since, as A likes to constantly r...

So we would love nothing more than to INVITE YOU ALL to either attend our presentation at 1PM EST on Friday, December 6th 2019 at Wake Forest University, or tune into our livestream of the presentation on YouTube (since, as A likes to constantly remind us, y'all are all over the world :) ).

As of now we still have a lot of work left to do between now and the 6th—bc procrastination is great—but first we need to get a headcount for how big of a space we'll need for the presentation. So if you can, leave a comment RIGHT HERE saying if you'd like to attend, even if you're not sure yet! The more the merrier. Physically or in spirit. We'd rather have too much space than not enough for your lovely faces.

(WFU students keep an eye out for postings around campus as well.)

WE HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL THERE!

Oh, and one more tiny thing...

The last chapters of Corbet's will continue to be released as scheduled, but we have a few tricks up our sleeves for the final, final, end-all chapter that we've tied into our presentation. Plus, BONUS, we've somehow convinced G to agree to a post-presentation information session just for you, the readers, in case any of you want to hear more about the behind-the-scenes work of Corbet's and G's journals. So get excited.

SEE YOU DECEMBER 6TH, FRIENDS.
