Bo's full-time job was throwing a wrench in Griffin's day.
She'd been so anxious to get out of Corbet's she ended up leaving at seven that morning. Her parents weren't even up yet.
There was rush hour traffic getting out of Wilmington, and then some more on 421 that put her behind about thirty minutes. She still rolled into Greensboro before a little before eleven a.m.
Bo couldn't leave work to let Griffin into his apartment.
That was how she would up sitting in a Starbucks, by herself, with nothing but her iPad for entertainment. There was only so much FreeCell she could take, and she'd had so many caramel macchiatos that she was starting to get the shakes.
Bo could slip away from work for a few minutes to meet her at his apartment, right?
Griffin unlocked her phone to text him. A text message from a random number popped up instead.
Of course.
Of course Charlie could figure out a way to bother her from halfway across the state. It wasn't enough that he almost saw her naked the night before...
Griffin shuddered. She'd alternated between reliving the laundry room scene last night and wondering why Charlie hadn't just dropped the Wake Forest bomb on everyone at dinner. She wondered if he didn't say anything because then he wouldn't have it on her anymore.
