Bruno's POV

As I saw Natalie crying like that, I felt like my whole world just crashed and burned. Because when she cries, you know she has a very good reason for doing so. It was like I forgot the situation I was in at the moment and even Bridgette, like I forgot she was there with me needing a shoulder to cry on too. It was like running to Natalie and comforting her is more important than anything else.  It was like nothing matters at the moment but Natalie and the pain she was feeling.

I ran inside the house leaving Bridgette at the backyard on the bench. I searched for Natalie and I caught her running her way out the house. "Natalie!" I yelled but she didn't look at me. I followed her as she ran to the Hummer and started unlocking the door. I reached her there and held her. "Natalie, what's wrong?" I asked. She was fidgeting as she tried to unlock the door.

"I gotta get out of here now," she cried.

I stopped her and grabbed the key from her hands. She faced me and she was crying like hell. "What's wrong?" I asked really worried now as I held her arms.

"Marie!" she cried someone's name.

"Marie?" I asked.

"She was my friend and now she's dead. She's dead! I have to see her!" she cried louder and tried unlocking the door again.

"Stop, Natalie! Listen to me!" I stopped her again and let her face me. I cupped her face in my hands. "It's okay, it's okay! 'Cause Marie is in a better place now. She's in heaven where she could rest peacefully."

"I can't—I don't know—I," she stuttered in grief. Marie must have been a very close and precious friend to her. Now she's gone and it hurts her.

"It's okay. It's okay," I whispered as I wiped the tears on her face with fingers.

"She doesn't deserve to die like that like she was some trash!" she cried some more.

"Shh! It's gonna be alright," I hugged her tight and let her cry on my chest. "Come on. Let's take you in," I said and I took her to my room and left her there. I went to the kitchen and got her a glass of water. As I went back to the room, I saw her lying on the bed now and still looked in pain. I sat on the bed beside her and handed her the glass of water. She sat up and took it.

"Now do you want to talk about it? Do you want to talk about Marie?" I asked.

She sniffed and said, "She's... one of my closest friends. Someone killed her in her sleep." I can say that it was pretty hard for her to talk about it but I know it was the only way she could pour out her feelings. "She was twenty-one. She was the sweetest girl I know. She broke her dreams of becoming an actress. She was pure and innocent until... her parents..." she trailed off and then broke into tears.

"I know how it feels to lose a friend, Natalie. But just remember, we don't lose people, we just gain angels," I quoted.

"I can't lose my friends. There are the only family I have now... besides my husband," she cried.

"You won't lose them," I assured.

She started wiping out her tears now and then she asked me, "Why are you here?"

"Why? Don't you want me here?" I asked back.

"You should be with Bridgette right now comforting her," she said.

I looked away. "You need a shoulder to cry on more than she does."

"No..." she protested. "You're messing up the plan again, Bruno."

"Natalie, I'm your fiancé. What do you expect me to do?"

"You mean your fake fiancé," she emphasized the word.
