Closing the door to the tannery, Clement sighed tiredly. He started walking back to his home but was stopped by Gregory.

In the past year, Gregory had matured to be a fine young man who regretted the choices of his past. Although Clement was the one who suggested Gregory’s punishment, he looked up to Clement as an older brother. There was something about Clement’s mind that attracted Gregory in a curious manor. “Did you see who’s come to Winshire?”

Clement shook his head. “No, who’s here?” He started walking in the direction of The Glory Knight Tavern.

“Lord of Ashbourne,” Gregory said in with a slight spec of remorse. “Lady Eleanor’s betrothed.”

Clement shrugged his shoulders and turned his head away to hide his expression of discontent. He knew he had no right to be upset; he was married to Marjorie. But he didn’t love Marjorie and never could. She was a heartless fish; insipid and vapid.
