A/N: I [finally] got inspired to write after listening to History. I think my heart was slowly being torn as I listened to it. Definitely in my top 3 most favorite 1D songs so far. I really think that Made in the AM will be their best! (I keep saying that whenever they release a new album :)

CHAPTER 23

[November 27, 2014, 10:35 pm, 'It's just us now.']

(More than an hour left before midnight. LIAM and HARRY help each other in setting up their tents. NIALL is in charge in feeding wood to the fire, also preparing their snacks for the night. They keep exchanging laughs that fill up the silence in the forest. LOUIS sits quietly alone, smirking as he watches his friends struggle in setting up.)

LOUIS: (clapping) "Let's go, lads! We don't have all day!" (LIAM throws a football on him) "Hey!"

LIAM: "How about helping the Payno setting this up, yeah?"

LOUIS: (tossing the football) "Payno can do anything, right?" (winks at LIAM)

HARRY: "Can't do anything about it, Liam. It's the old sassy Lou."

LIAM: (shakes his head, snorts) "Of course. He never changed."

LOUIS: "Hey! I helped the last time we did this!"

NIALL: "Um, yeah. You helped breaking the tents down again after we set it up."

LOUIS: "Well, at least I toasted the mallows perfectly. And I was on pine cone duties."

LIAM: "I think that counts." (throws his phone to LOUIS) "Here."

LOUIS: (surprised, catches it) "Woah! What's with the throwing, Liam?"

LIAM: "Just call Zayn, please. He doesn't answer my texts."

NIALL: "He's been really quiet a lot, again, lately."

LOUIS: (worried, frowns) "I'm sure he's fine. I mean, we were together just this morning. He's probably on his way."

LIAM: (grimaced) "Just ... just call him."

ZAYN: "No need, Liam. I'm here." (weakly smiles as he walks in, apologetic look on his face)

LIAM: "Where have you been?"

ZAYN: (hands on his pocket) "I ... got stuck on traffic. And it was hard to break out of our hotel without anyone noticin'." (approaches to help them) "Sorry, Liam. Forgive me?"

LIAM: (mocks a puppy face, then nods) "A hug would be nice."

ZAYN: (laughs, then hugs LIAM tight) "Are we good?"

LIAM: (pats his back) "We're good." (breathes in, clears throat) "Well, as punishment for being late, I, the great Payne Train, want you to get Tommo's lazy arse up to help."

(NIALL and HARRY tries to hide their laughs, LOUIS mocks to be scared, holds firmly to his seat.)

LOUIS: (proud) "Sassy Lou is not going anywhere."
