April's P.O.V.
"YOU'RE WORTHLESS!" My older sister Jaylene shouts out, she was pissed because daddy didn't buy her a new car
"YOU WERE JUST A MISTAKE!"
Tears started falling from my eyes after every insult, I grasped my head between my legs and tried to block out her voice
"ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME YOU PIECE OF SHIT?"
She says fuming with anger, I looked up for a second to see her pink manicured nails grabbing a lamp. No she wouldn't... I thought to myself.
"Jaylene please sto-" I got cut off by a sharp pain near my arm. She threw a freakin lamp at me!! I cried out in pain hoping someone would help but no one came
"Bye bitch" she says right after she kicks with her damn sharp heels right where I got hit.
I sat there crying in my own pool of blood for about 3 minutes until I heard someone coming down from upstairs. I panicked hoping it wasn't Jaylene or my parents. I looked down scared to see this person face until I felt a warm hand near my wound.
"April what happened?!" John whispers,
John was one of my best friends he was about 6'3 with dirty blonde hair and clear blue eyes that you could get lost in he was also a year older than me , I have to admit I do like him. Then there was me straight brown hair and green dull eyes. There was nothing special about me except that I'm werewolf but then again everyone in this house is.
"Jaylene" I say giving him a weak smile
"Not on your birthday!!" He shouts out with a smile "HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY!!" He says as he hugs me tightly
"Heeeeyyy watch out for my wound you jerk" I say trying to hold back the tears.
"You ready to shift AND find your mate?!" He smirks
"He might reject me but yeah I'm excited" I smiled weakly
John nodded and smiled before he left, he had said that he needed to go somewhere, something about him was off. He looked sad/mad right before he left.
"Oh well I'll just celebrate my birthday by myself" I muttered as I started getting ready for school.
I put on tights, my aero shirt and a big blue sweater from Ardenes.I slowly went downstairs
trying to avoid everyone. I heard whispers downstairs coming from my parents.
"We need to kick her out!!" My sister hisses out
"Jaylene she may be the omega but we can not kick her out"
"MOM SHES WORTHLESS! What will she ever bring to this pack?! Right daddy?!" She says with her puppy dog eyes
"She's right Mary, you and I both know she won't bring anything to this pack" my dad says
Tears started to form in my eyes, I ran out the door and into the woods. I came to a stop where there was a tree. I started crying every step I took and every branch I climbed on until I was on top of the tree. You could see most of the forest from here which meant it's really tall. I looked down and smiled, maybe all the pain and suffering will stop if I just... Jump! I put one foot over the branch and I wobbled a bit but still didn't fall.
"Goodbye world!!" I shouted out. As I took my last breath. I jumped my last thoughts were no one cares. I closed my eyes shut until I hear shouting from the woods. I opened my eyes but I still haven't reached the ground
"APRIL YOU FREAKING RETARD DON'T DIE" Kayla my best friend screams with tears streaming down her pale face
"APRIL!!" John shouts on his knees "stay" was all I heard
I panicked as I tried to look for a branch, boy this tree was long but there were none nearby
"AAAAH!!" I shouted out as the ground was getting closer
"APRIL!" I closed my eyes waiting for the ground to hit me but it didn't, instead I felt a strong pair of arms grab on to me. I looked up and it was John his tears were falling on my face but I didn't budge.
"April please please don't do that again.." He whispers, for some reason that sent shivers down my spine
"APRIL WHAT WAS THAT?" Kayla said looking pissed than ever before
"I thought I-"
"DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH PAIN I WOULD HAVE TO SUFFER WITHOUT YOU?!" She says as her crystal blue eyes started to form tears
"I'm sorry I'm just struggling ok?" I whispered, as I stood up a bolt of pain shot through my
"UAH!" I say as I crumbled
"SHE'S SHIFTING!!" Kayla screams in terror "GET THE DOCTOR I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!" She says as she slaps John
"Why do I have to get the doctor why can't you?!" He whines
"I'M IN FUCKING PAIN GUYS!" I hiss out
"Fine I will" John says pouting, he shifts into his beautiful jet black wolf and runs through the forest.
"Um uh uh it's ok..." Kayla says patting my back nervously
"Wow thanks for the suppor-AAAH" I shout out, then suddenly I felt my hands turn into paws and my mouth turn into a snout. I heard a loud gasp coming from Kayla
"So beautiful!!" She whispers.
Kayla took about 1000 pictures of my wolf then shows me. My wolf eyes widen, I was beautiful.. Not trying to be over confident or anything just I really was. I had white fur, ocean blue eyes and a big black star near my rear end.
"Kayla I'm ba-" John stops in mid step, he stares at me in awe.
My head bolts up mate "MATE!!" I shout out happily. John smiles widely and runs towards me
"Well I'm just gonna gooo now" Kayla says dragging the pack Doctor
"Uhh you can shift back now.." John says, I nodded and waited for him to turn around.
"Are you gonna do it anytime soon...?" He says with a smirk, I bit him and he finally turned around.
"You can turn back now." I say sweetly "so let's head back!!!" I say happy as ever
"Wait." John says in a low voice
"Anything wrong mate?" I say as I emphasized mate
"I.... I John Selman reject you.." He pauses and tears started to fall "reject you April Laws as my mate" he turns around and looks at his shoes
"why John?" i whispered
"cause I don't need you April" he says harshly "i'd rather be with Jaylene" My eyes started stinging from all the crying i've done today.
"well then i'll be on my way" i flipped him off then started walking
"wait April.." he says seriously
"what." i spat out
"keep this.." he says as he hands me something in a box, i opened it and i couldn't believe my eyes.. It was.... Pictures of Our memories together.
"Why.." I say as tears started forming in my eyes
"I don't need them anymore.. If I want your sister to be my wife then I can't have pictures of you in my room." He says shifting and running away. I took one last glance at his jet black wolf and it felt as a little bit of my heart was missing.
