After what felt like ages of being on a plane with Luke, Ashton was more than happy to finally make it to Rome. He was desperate to hear the sound of random strangers chatting and greeting each other, just to block out the endless rambling his best friend tortured him with on their flight. Granted, allowing his best friend to talk his ear off was the least Ashton could do for making him miss important classes just because he was too prideful to show up to his brother's wedding without a date. Yet, even though he understood that, Ashton also knew that this would only be the beginning of his best friend's ramblings.

The two finally made it out of the busy airport, looking around for someone holding up a sign with their names, or a familiar car or face. However, neither of those things could be spotted, and that didn't sit well with Ashton.

"Holy shit," Luke breathed suddenly, and after a second Ashton followed his gaze to the shiny black Jaguar, which slowed to a stop in front of them.

He couldn't help but roll his eyes as he fixed the strap on his bag before climbing into the back seat, having to pull Luke in behind him.

"Irwin?" The chauffeur asked, and Ashton only nodded in reply before staring out the window. They weren't even within a mile of his brother, yet it still felt too close. It's like the thought of them being in the same city was just too suffocating, and to his dismay, the ride to the hotel didn't last very long either.

So, they stepped out of the nice car, Ashton exiting first and holding out his hand for Luke in case someone was watching, and Ashton carried the bags until they made it into the lobby and gave them to a bellboy.

Ashton wasn't looking at Luke, but he could almost feel the excitement radiating off of him as they rode the elevator to the top floor. It wasn't that the elevator just generally made him happy. It was one of those really nice, see through elevators and he was going crazy over how amazing the hotel was. Ashton, however, didn't really care. He was only here for one reason, and that wasn't to be overly excited about the fancy toys and knick-knacks that would only feel like a tease when it was time for them to return home.

Eventually, the elevator doors opened and revealed the hallway, and the two friends exited, allowing the bellboy to guide them in the right direction. The halls were clear, and that made Ashton very happy.

"This is the room sir." Said the bellboy as he knocked on the door. Both, Ashton and Luke stared at the employee with a worried expression. Why would he knock on a door when the guest are outside of it. However, there question was soon answered as the door was opened and Ashton's sister Lauren engulfed him in a hug.

For once, in their time in Rome, Ashton allowed a smile upon his face as he hugged his little sister. However, there hug was short lived once she saw Luke standing beside them, smiling like an idiot.

"Luke!" She screamed and bombarded him with a hug. The blond haired boy wasn't surprised. Ashton, however, got a bit jealous at the amount of time his sister was hugging Luke compared to him, her own brother.

"Okay, that's enough Lauren." He said nonchalantly, though a hint of impatience could be heard in his voice. Lauren listen, instead snuggling farther into his best friend. "Get off my boyfriend," he ordered then, smirking at the shocked look on Lauren's face and the momentary shock that left Luke's face just as quick as it came.

The curly haired boy walked over to Luke, smiling, and pecked his cheek before grabbing his hand and walking into the room, Lauren on their tail.

"Mum, Ashton took my boyfriend."

Ashton stiffened, shocked to hear such words come out of his sister's mouth, and looked at his parents' quizzical expressions. He looked back at her sister, noticing her eyeing Luke and winking slightly, and he knew it was all a joke.

With that in mind, he wrapped his arms around his mum, breathing in her wonderful scent and never wanting to let go, and then gave his dad a guy hug.

"I've missed you two." Ashton said to the people responsible for his existence.

"I've missed you too Ashton." An annoyingly familiar voice deeper into Ashton's ears and he wanted nothing more than anything to just jump out the window. "I'm glad you could make it."

The voice caused Ashton to stiffen for a second and draw in a deep breath. He turned to his one and only brother, leaning in the doorway smugly. He wasn't doing anything in particular, but Ashton could just feel the pretentious aurora he gave off.

He hated it.

"Luke, this is my brother, Ryan. Ryan, this is my boyfriend, Luke."

"I didn't think little Ashy had it in him," Ryan smirked as he shook hands with Luke.

"Me either," Luke joked back, only to receive an elbow to the ribs from Ashton.

"Yeah, yeah, we've all mingled, now can you all please get out of our room?"

Lauren pouted a bit at that, but before she could protest she was quickly ushered away by their father. Their mother followed close behind with a simple 'goodnight' to Ashton and a hug to Ryan. He tried to ignore that.

Ryan was the last to go. When they all were finally out Ashton sighed heavily and flopped on the bed. He felt a weight on top of him moments later, restricting his breathing slightly, though he didn't make an attempt to move.

"Your family seems fun," Luke mumbled into Ashton's hair. The older chuckled humourlessly and rolled his eyes behind his closed eyelids.

"I hate them," he whispered back.

They were quiet after that. Luke ended up rolling off of him and climbing under the covers, Ashton doing the same after some convincing. He threw his arm around Luke's middle, the boy moving back until his back was against his chest. It was something they've done so many times before, and felt familiar even in such a foreign place.

While they fell asleep like that, Ashton couldn't help but wonder what the next day would entail.

I'm baaaaaack!

97% of this chapter was done by the great _OnceUponTheEnd, so be sure to send them many thanks and check out their stories because otherwise, this book would probably be deleted.

But anyways, hello! I'm going to try and update this semi-regularly. This chapter was a bit choppy because I haven't written in a while, along with the two different authors, so the next one might be smoother.

Thanks for sticking around if you have.

¡Hasta pronto (hopefully)!
