Tap Tap Tap

It's happening again.
They're threatening to come out.
They're threatening with friends.

Their friend, Worry.
Their friend, Fear.
Their friends of everything.
They bring us to tears.

Their voices echoing throughout our heads.
Their voices saying "you should be dead".

I'm not talking about the bullies,
Or the haters.
I'm not talking about all of those fakers.

The ones I'm talking about aren't your friends,
nor your family.
It isn't the 'pretty' or the manly.

The ones I refer to are much much smaller.
Their voices louder and shadows taller.

Their words and thoughts are colder than ice.
And to get a compliment, you must pay a price.

This may sound like a poem about some prick,
But it's more than that.
It's more than you think.

Their monsters! Villains!
Horrible beings!
Eating your soul,
Heart bleeding.

But to tell you the truth,
These enemies are always close.
They're in our heart
And the back of the throat.
