The next morning I woke up and got ready for school. I tried to look a little nicer than normal. I was actually excited to go. I went downstairs and we all ate some breakfast.

"Everyone go grab your stuff we are getting ready to go." My mom called out.

We all went and grabbed our book bags then went and piled in the car. We got to school and me and Seth got out.

"Are you getting along with the football guys?" I asked as we walked up to the school.

"Yeah, but I got to go." He ran off to catch up with the team.

"Bye." I mumbled, such a great big brother always here for me.

"Hey Alex." Someone said as they walked up beside me. I looked and it was Sodapop.

"Oh hi Sodapop." I smiled a bit.

"Who was that?" He asked looking at my brother walking with the football team.

I couldn't help but think was he jealous? No I thought, he doesn't like me. "That's my brother Seth." I shrugged.

"Oh." He nodded. I glanced out the corner of my eye and I saw him trying to hide a smile. "Let's head to class." He stopped at both our lockers to grab what we needed and then headed to class. We talked through most of it.

After class he walked me to my next class. Steve was already inside and I went to sit by him. We didn't talk at all but it was still kinda nice to knowing that I knew someone in the class. After we went to our next class, Soda spent the entire time talking to me and ignoring Steve. At lunch I sat with them, then when we had classes together we talked. After school he would walk me home.

That's how the entire first week went. It was Friday, and it was going just normal. During lunch Sodapop started to act weird. I got up when I finished. "I'm going to go to my locker before class, I'll see you there." I smiled as I went to go dump my tray.

"I'll come with you." He got up and followed me. We walked to my locker and he didn't say anything. "So, do you still want me to show you around town sometime?" He asked as he leaned up against the lockers.

"Sure." I smiled. "That would be nice, so I could finally go out and do stuff." I laughed.

"How about tonight?"

"Yeah that works." I nodded.

"I figured we could go to the dingo, I could show you some good stuff to get there. Then we could drive around as I show you stuff, then if you want after we can go to the drive in. It's something you really need check out." He started rambling.

"That sounds really fun." I smiled and closed my locker.

"I can come and get you around 7?" He asked.

"Sure, but my parents will kill you with questions." I laughed. "I could just meet you at your place." I offered.

"No it's fine. I wouldn't mind meeting them. They are our neighbors." He smiled.

"Alright. Just be prepared." I laughed.

"I'm sure it won't be that bad." He laughed.

I looked at him. "You have no idea." We started to walk to our next class.

The rest of the day went pretty slow. We talked like normal. After we walked home together. "So I'll come and get you at 7." He smiled.

"Sounds good." I smiled back. I went home and started to get ready, I changed into a little nicer outfit and fixed my hair and make up. I went down stairs and sat down on the couch. I couldn't help but to think was this a date or just him being nice and showing me around? I really couldn't tell. I mean I hoped it was a date, but I had no idea what he was thinking this was going to be.

"Where are you going tonight?" My mom asked.

"One of my friends at school wants to show me around town." I shrugged.

"Oh are they meeting you here?"

"Yeah. They are our neighbor across the street." I smiled.

"Oh that's nice that you are making friends in the neighbor hood." She smiled. "Are you going to eat here?"

"Nope, we are going to go try some stuff at the Dingo."

"Okay." She nodded and went to the kitchen to make some dinner.

At 7 I head a knock on the door and got up to answer it. "Hey." I smiled as I opened the door to Sodapop.

"Hi." He smiled.

"Do you want to come and meet my parents?" I asked. "Well, they want to meet you so." I opened the door more and we went inside to the living room. "Mom, Dad, this is Sodapop, my friend from school." I smiled.

"Hi." He went and shook both their hands. They asked some questions and he answered them.

"So who is all in your family?" My dad asked.

"Well its me, then my two brothers Darry and Ponyboy." Soda answered.

"What about your parents?" He asked.

"They died a couple months ago, our older brother Darry takes care of us now." Soda looked away.

"Okay, well we better get going." I got up and we left. We walked across the street to his house to get in their pick up.

"Darry said we can borrow it since he's home." He spoke up after we got in.

"That's nice of him." I smiled a bit. He nodded as we started to drive. "I'm sorry about your parents. I didn't know, if I did I would have stopped him." I looked at him.

"It's fine. I didn't want you guys to feel bad for us, but I didn't want to lie to them either." He shrugged and looked ahead and he drove. "It's just hard sometimes."

All I could do was nod. "I know we aren't that close, but if you ever need anything I would gladly be there." I smiled at him.

"Thanks." He smiled and looked at me. We drove for a while in silence, we pulled up to the dingo and got out then walked inside. I still had no idea if this was a date, or him being nice and I really hope I could figure it out soon.

Authors note: Thank you so much for reading! Sorry I'm getting a little slow with updating, but do you think they are on a date or just him being nice? Next chapter will be the rest of the little outing.
