15. "The thing is, I can't pretend we never happened because I'm still in love with you."
We had broken up almost 3 months ago now but here I was walking round to her place, question is am I going to regret this?
I was kicking the ground as I went and I soon kicked a step, I made my way up onto her porch and knocked on the door. The door opened and there she was, the girl I fell in love with. "What do you want?" She snapped at me and I was pulled from my thoughts "I ,uhhh wanted to talk, about... about us." I spoke unsure of how she was going to react.
She stepped out onto the porch and closed the door behind her. "Steve, we broke up months ago for a reason." I gazed at the hardwood surface of the railing surrounding the porch, "Yeah but-" She took a few steps and stood in the doorway with her back to me "Just pretend we never happened and leave me alone, please." The door slowly began to close and when it did I could hear her slide down the back of the door and so I sat with her back to back through the door. "The thing is, I can't pretend we never happened because I'm still in love with you." I knew she had heard me as I heard her mutter "Asshole" quickly followed by heavy footsteps moving away from the door and with that I stood up and made my way home thinking of ways to move on because I knew I had lost her.
