Chapter 38

Taylor's POV

"Rose? Where are you going the buffet is this way," I said pointing down the hall of our resort.

"Just trust me," she said taking my hand. She led us through the hotel and outside, Annie trailing close behind.

"Aloha Miss," a woman said putting a lei around my neck. "If you'll come this way," she said gently taking my arm.

"Wait, what about my kids?" I said looking back at my daughters.

"Don't worry about them, we have somebody arranged to take care of them."

"Yeah, don't worry mommy!" Rose said running to me and hugging me. "Your going to have so much fun!"

"Wait what? What's going on," I said giving Rose a sly grin.

"You'll see. Now go!" She said giving me a little push.

"Ok ok fine I'm going I'm going!" I said letting the woman lead me away. "Behave the two of you! I love you both!" I called behind me.

"We love you too!"

I watched as a young woman came and introduced herself to Rose and Annie. She gave them high fives and they ran off. I smiled, and turned back to see where this woman was leading me.

"So, do you have any idea what's going on?" I asked, searching for answers.

"Maybe." She said sneakily.

"I didn't know any of this was happening. I thought it was just going to be a peaceful, relaxing-"

The sight of him made me stop in my tracks. I instantly felt a warm feel flood my body and happiness seemed to be bursting out of me.

There he was. Standing on the edge of a dock. Waving. Waving at me.

"CALVIN!!!" I screamed running towards him. I ran all the way to the dock, and halfway across it. He started running too. I ran right into his arms. People watching probably thought that he was away at war from the way we encountered each other. Who knew that 5 days could feel like 5 years?

"I missed you," he said while spinning me around in his arms. His cool, soft accent rang in my ears.

"I missed you more."

He set me down, and we kissed. It was almost like I was kissing him for the first time.

"How? What? Who?!" I asked when we pulled apart, still confused about the whole situation. He answered them all by kissing me again.

"Thank that brilliant child of yours, Rose."

"Oh I will." I said hugging him again.

"Ok birthday girl, are you ready?" He said turning and pointing to medium sized boat.

I put all the pieces together at that moment, and looked up at him grinning.

"YES!"

He grabbed my hand and we ran towards the boat like the little children we were.

We spent the day on the boat drinking wine, eating, (it's five o'clock somewhere, am I right?) snorkeling, swimming, "driving" the boat, fishing, and just relaxing.

It was when we were standing by the edge of the boat, watching the sunset, when I realized how lucky I was. I had such an amazing life, and nobody could take that away from me.

"Isn't this just amazing?" Calvin said, kissing my shoulder.

"Most beautiful sunset I've ever seen."

The sky almost looked like cascading water colors, floating around.

"Taylor...." He said turning to face me.

"Yes?" I said looking in his bright blue eyes. They seemed to be full of hope.

"I know we haven't been dating that long, but-"

"Calvin..?"

"No don't worry, I'm not proposing."

I felt a huge weight being lifted off my chest. Although I loved Calvin so so so much, and I knew he was going to be the one, I wasn't ready for that just yet.

"But," he took my hands in his and looked back at the sunset, as if he was searching for something.

"But what?" OH GOD?? WAS HE BREAKING UP WITH ME??

"I would like to eventually."

"Oh thank the lord," I blurted out. "For a second there I thought you were breaking up with me."

He laughed. "No no, never."

We smiled at each other, and there was a silence for a moment.

"As I was saying, I am planning on purposing to you eventually. So, think of this as me being your "almost fiancée." He pulled a box out of his pocket a revealed the most beautiful ring. It was a band, and had little diamonds incrusted in it.

"Aww Calvin," I said blushing.

He took my right hand (clever eh?) and placed the band on it.

"Thank you, I love it."

We kissed and held each other, and started dancing to some non-existent music. Eventually we both broke out laughing at how pathetic we were.

"So, I don't know about you, but there are 2 little girls that I may or may not be dying to see."

"You took the words right out of my mouth."

I AM SO SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING!!!! I had finals last week and I spent all my time studying (but I got above a 95 on all of them!) But don't worry, I'm back and coming at you with more chapters!
