one.

calum sat cross-legged on the end of his bed staring down at the small piece of paper he was turning over in his hand. it was an envelope, pink and infused with a sweet floral scent that calum couldn't understand. he hadn't opened it just yet, he was too busy staring at the thin cursive font scrawled across the centre of the paper.

calum.

not once had calum been personally invited to something, he had never attended a birthday party, or even a housewarming party. but now, at eighteen years old, his final year of high school coming to an end, the one girl he had always loved had invited him to a party. it was nothing special, just all the year thirteens getting together to celebrate their last year of teenagehood. just another party for all the other attendees, but for calum it was much more.

he slid his finger carefully under the sticky glue and teared along the length, before pulling out an equally pink and floral scented piece of paper. calum bit his lip and his eyes scanned the writing, a small smile slowly forming across his rosy cheeks. he was extremely excited, he wanted to just shout out with glee. he could, no one was home as per usual. he was a loner.
