erin stood leaning against the large golden gates, arms crossed firmly across her chest. it had been a year since she had seen her best friend. she coughed lightly as she looked at her watch. only a few moments now and he would arrive. his family would be so happy to see him, she couldn't wait to see the look on his sisters face. everything was going to be perfect again. she saw the train pull up, only a few metres away from her position at the entrance gates. she watched as he climbed off and looked around anxiously, he was scared, his expression said everything. his eyes met hers and he smiled, slowly walking towards her. he seemed hesitant.

"erin," he sighed, tears falling from his eyes as his arms wrapped around her frail body. erin smiled and wrapped her arms around his torso. tears pricked at her eyes as she buried her face into his neck and clung onto him for dear life. they sobbed in silence for a few minutes, just taking in each others presences.

"welcome home calum, we missed you," she whispered into the crook of his neck, "you will never have to be alone again. i promise."
