Chapter 21

Chandler's POV

"Oh so you still play the guitar?" I told Violet, as we were both sitting on the floor where she had her guitar in her arms

"Yup" she said and she started streaming it gently

"I can play a song if-f-f you wa-want" she said quietly, I could tell she was regretting saying that

"If you want to yeah" I told her in a reassuring tone

I sat down closer to her and she looked me in the eye with this look that I swear never in the, what? 16 years I've known her, I've never seen her look at me which such kindness in her stare, I felt like I didn't know her and that we were just having a fresh start. And even then I was still falling for her

"Ok um yeah, so yeah, umm I-I do you umm like, yeah, so, umm" she started mumbling like crazy which made me smile a lot, and she clearly noticed which made her cheeks go extremely red

We both had a laugh and she stopped blushing like she just was, and we pretty much just stared at each other

"Ok, um, Is there any request of song you want me to sing?" she told me smiling

"Do you like Jaymes Young?" I told her, picking one of my all time favorite artists

"Oh well look at that, your taste isn't as bad as I thought" she said with her guitar pick in her mouth

She started with the first streams and I quickly recognized the song she was about to play, my favorite

When she said those words, she said them with such hurt that I could even feel it

I until now realized how much this song applies with her, she is so scared to love someone for many reasons, one of them is that she doesn't want to get hurt, besides her other million reasons she isn't doing such a good job

On the other hand, she's a great singer, this isn't the first time I hear her sing but the last time I did was such a long time ago I forgot how great she sang, the first time I heard her sing was probably in our 1st grade nativity play, she was an angel and she got a singing part, I sure remember that day, all the boys were shocked with how good she sang, she truly was an angel

She sang lastly hitting that note perfectly

I stayed silent when she finished, I like always was left with my mouth open by how great she sang, she never fails to amaze me

"Was I really that bad?" she asked looking down fake laughing

"What? No no no, you were, amazing, don't doubt it" I told her smiling

"You're amazing" I told her finishing off

Violet's POV

"Remember that time in Juro-Camp when you fell into the pool and all the boys threw themselves in, including me, to be in the pool with you" He told me laughing making me cover up my face with my hands

"Oh God, of course I remember" I told him laughing

Chandler and I are laying down on top of my roof looking at the stars, telling stories about when we were little

I know this is the CHEESIEST thing in the world that has ever existed and I totally wouldn't be doing this gay shit with him right now, but I can't help that I'm in the L word with him

Still not saying the word

"Remember in 8th grade when you went fishing and you took a shirtless picture of you and a fish" I was telling him

"That fish's name was Carol" He said laughing

"Yeah, and, you took the picture for show and tell and all the girls were balls deep obsessed with you from then on?" I told him bitting my lip remembering that day

"Yes, how can I forget? That way, I got all the girls in the class except for one " He said and I could see his head spin as fast as it could in my direction

"Me" I told him

"Moi"

"Tu"

"Ok I don't know any more languages" I told him laughing

But wait, I hate my life for feeling this way towards him, I probably ran out of ways to block him out, I'm gonna have to pull out more out of my sleeve

"You're a great friend Chandler" I told him

I turned to look at him and I saw his eyes roll as far as they could ever roll, typical Chandler

"I know I'm a great friend" He said

"I know I could be a something more than a great friend"
