BEFORE SHE OPENED HER EYES, she heard the Ice and Fire sing her a soft lullaby, luring her in a dream, and giving her unknown life a sense of purpose.

She woke up in an unknown place, covered in ashes. The ruins surrounding her made her realise that she was the only one left, alive, in that place; she emerged from the cinders, let the heavens guide her by a red comet that slashed the sky.

She didn't know who she was. She had nothing. She might have been a cold blooded killer or a worshipped godess, who knew. She didn't remember a single thing, not even her own name, where she came from, her family...

She had traveled a long way to get where she was standing now, a colossal building surrounded by people dressed in bizarre robes of different colours. As she didn't have a place to go, she followed her senses, and they lead her there. Hopefully, maybe that strange place had the answers she needed.

She tried to lay low on the foreign land. Seeing people roaming around alarmed her. She followed a small group of girls with blue dresses, trailing closely behind them. The girl crouched, a futile attempt to stay incognito as they entered the enormous castle. She hid behind a wall and an empty armor.

Empty?

"Miss, would you be kind to not step on me?"

She held her hands on her mouth to not scream and ran away from the talking armor. Since when did the armors speak? The castle looked like a maze and there was no one she could ask for help, since all the people have seemed to go to disappear. She wandered around and saw the sturdy double doors towering above her, maybe they would lead her somewhere safe where she could hide.

She struggled to open the doors, and doing it was the worst decision she had ever made apart from going there. What she thought it would be more corridors to find a safe place to hide, turned out to be a hall full of people feasting. Of course, her entrance was unexpected, so they abruptly turned around.

Thousands of eyes stared back at her, judging her. She felt her pale cheeks heat up slowly. The majority of people wore a beautiful black robe, whilst other girls wore elegant blue dresses, and other boys wore rich and highly intricate garments.

Their eyes scanned her from head to toe, looking at her stained white torn tunic and bare feet, her silver locks tangled and skin dry as the desert.

"Looks like we have an unexpected guest tonight!"

The cheerful voice made her look forward. He held his hand out, inviting her to take it. She slowly made her way to the front, ignoring everyone's stares and focused on the man's kind and pitiful stare at her.

His hand enveloped her shaking ones and she felt safe for the first time since she had woken up.

"What's your name, dear?" He kindly asked.

The girl tried to speak, her throat was as raspy as sand. She coughed and whispered, "I- I do not know."

The man stared at her lilac eyes deeply, identifying her troubled soul and need for help, "I'm Albus Dumbledore. Please follow professor McGonagall, she will give you new clothes, after changing, you are more than welcome to join the fest."

She turned to the lady that just stood up, who nodded at her, signalling her to follow her outside, and led her into a small room where she gave her some strange clothing that somehow made her look decent again.

Was she in the right place?
