•Elsa's POV•

~a few weeks later~

I've finally recovered. I had major blood loss from the bullet that hit me, but I'm okay now.

I also had damage in one eye. My eye is fine ever since the bruise finally cleared up, but I am and will forever be emotionally unstable when I remember what happened. The scars will never heal, both physically and mentally.

Jack had had his first kiss with me two weeks ago, but nothing has happened ever since. Does he not like me anymore? Was I just too awful at kissing? Ugh, men. It really hurt when Taylor announced she had been kissed by him. I didn't tell anyone about our kiss, so they think she was his first. I can understand that he's trying to date all of the girls to narrow down his options, but I can't help but also feel jealous at the though of him being in the arms of another woman.

I've had Hiccup around me, and I've never been so confused in my life. I don't know how I feel, but I know I love them both. Yes, I know he cheated on me with Leyna, I know I'm stupid for loving him, but I can't help what I feel for him. It's undeniable now that he's here with me at the palace. The little things I notice about him make me fall for him more-his shorter haircut, his firmly-rounded muscles, the matureness of his personality. It makes me crazier about him.

Maddox quickly comes into my room to help me get ready. Ever since that encounter with the rebels, she has been so afraid. But we're fine now. We've never been closer. After I just get out of the bath, there's a knock on the door.

I raise up from the chair, afraid it's Jack. What will happen when I see him and he sees me...like this?

"Maddox, if it's Jack, tell him I'll be right out." I make a mad dash for the closet, opening up the door and closing it shut just as she opens the door. Thank God he didn't see me naked. I put on my robe in the closet as I hear their conversation.

"I'm sorry, your Highness, she just got out of the bath, getting ready for bed."

"Oh, should I come back later? It's quite important to see her now, but..." I clear my throat, letting her know everything is fine and I'm ready to see him.

"Oh! Come on in. She'll be out in a second." Maddox comes to my aid as she opens the closet as little as she can so he won't see me.

She comes to my aid while I'm struggling to zip up my day dress. She helps lace it up, making it fit tighter, while I pull my hair into a sloppy wet braid. She gives me a little mascara and eyeliner and I'm ready. When I walk out, Jack sits on my bed, reading my sheet music.

"Hey!" He quickly jumps, startled, and throws it down. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to intrude on your private things."

I laugh and mess up his hair. "It's fine, you do-do brain."

He smirks. "Mm, you smell really nice. Lavender shampoo?" I nod.

He smiles. "My favorite. Works well with light hair." He says, pointing to his white hair.

"So what did you want to come up here for?" He clears his throat. "Well, you probably already know I kissed Taylor. Are you okay with that?"

I cross my arms, biting my lip in the process. I debate on whether I should tell him how I really feel, but he probably wouldn't appreciate our new relationship starting out with lies. Relationships are built upon sharing, not keeping.

I sigh. "No. Not really. But you're the prince. You have other options, and I get that."

"Elsa, it's not that way, I-"

"Look, I get it if you didn't like the kiss, and it's fine if you don't want to be with me. Just say so." I look up at him, and he stares at me, dumbfounded. Guess I was right. He doesn't want to be with me.
