Ryan was gone before I woke up in the morning. I'd gotten used to falling asleep and waking up without him because of the schedule the boys were on. Kendall and I just spent our time planning the wedding since we didn't need to work. Today it was time to find a dress; since I wanted a beach ceremony, I was going to be untraditional and maybe get a short dress. Length didn't matter as long as it was white, right? I got up out of bed and went to wake up Kendall.
She was sprawled across the bed she shared with Brendon; condom wrappers and used condoms were practically overflowing from the trash can and her hair screamed sex. I started hitting her with a pillow to wake her up.
"GET UP SLUT WE'RE GOING DRESS SHOPPING!" I yelled.
"Good morning to you too, bridezilla"
"I am not a bridezilla" I replied "I'm a bride-to-be whose maid of honor passed out last night from a sexual overdose"
"I regret nothing!" she yelled. She got out of bed and looked at the trash can. "Oh wow, okay... I still regret nothing"
We both showered and left for the first dress shop. Kendall was the only member of my wedding party since my sister and cousins all put not attending on their invitations. Nice to know that my family loved me so much. Mom and dad were coming and promised not to fight so that made me happy. Kendall's parents were coming too and so were the families of the boys. We invited some random friends too, but the crowd would still be small and perfect.
"So what color do you want your dress to be?" I asked Kendall.
"Why are you asking? Shouldn't you have the color scheme all planned out and yelling at me not to clash with your bouquet?"
"Kendall, this wedding is happening partially because of you. Ryan was your friend first, you introduced us, I want your happiness taken into account as well"
"AWWWWW" she cooed "In that case I want a red dress, deep red"
"Perfect" I told her "The wedding won't have a color scheme anyway. Whites and pale purples are all I want. The reception is at our apartment anyway"
"You're really going low key on this, aren't you?"
"The ceremony isn't important to me, I just want the eternal bond between Ryan and I to be sealed"
"You two are just so... I love you guys"
"Can I help you find something?" one of the shop ladies asked.
"Yes" Kendall answered "My bestest friend over here is getting married in September and needs a dress"
"What kind of ceremony is it?" the lady asked.
"Simple, very simple" I said "A few friends and family members on the beach"
"Hmmm" the lady said "I don't know if we'll have anything that could work for that, everyone is into longer dresses right now"
"I guess we'll try somewhere else" I said "Thank you anyway"
Kendall and I drove around to shop after shop after shop after shop trying things on and attempting to find something that would work for me. It was getting really late and the boys were actually home before us for once.
"Let's try again tomorrow" she said to me.
"Agreed"
We drove home and I found Ryan passed out on our bed with his guitar and lyric book; he was working so hard on this album and I was so proud of him. I moved all his stuff off the bed and laid next to him. It was only nine PM but I understood how tired he must be.
"I do" he mumbled in his sleep. Aww! He was dreaming about the wedding!! I laid there and watched him smile in his sleep, I was so lucky. I fell asleep soon with dreams of my own.
Again he was gone in the morning so Kendall and I set out on dress hunt day number two. We went to as many shops at we could before we got hungry for lunch. We went to a little diner for sandwiches. After lunch we hit up another shop, it was small but the selection was incredible.
"PEY LOOK AT THIS" Kendall yelled.
I joined her at her dress rack. In her hands she held a shiny white dress that dropped mid-leg. It had spaghetti straps and small flowers around the waist...purple flowers to be exact.
"What size?" I asked.
"It's an eight but we can have it taken in to fit you" said one of the shop workers.
"It's perfect" I said, holding back tears. I had a dress. "Time to find one for you"
Kendall and I browsed the shop and her heart nearly dropped out of her mouth when she found her maid of honor dress. A strapless corset top blood red dress that went all the way to her feet. She tried it on and that was it.
"You'll both look gorgeous" the woman told us as we bought the dresses "And congratulations to you, honey"
"Thank you" I beamed. We carried the dresses out to the car an excitedly drove home. It was just early afternoon so we decided to go for a run again, gotta be in shape for this right? We ran along the beach and gushed about the rest of the wedding.
