Remus would often let James, Sirius, and Peter copy his notes and homework for class when they didn't pay attention. Except, when there was a full moon and Remus was too sick to go to class James, Sirius and Peter would all make sure to pay attention and take very detailed notes for him because they knew Remus hated missing lessons. Before they were animagi the three of them would stay up late on the nights of the full moon and work together and do all of Remus' homework because they knew he didn't have time. They figured it was the least they could do after all Remus has done for them. The first time they did it Remus was exhausted from the full moon the previous night but when they gave him his homework he was so happy he was smiling for a week. McGonagall could tell that it was James', handwriting and not Remus and she was so proud of James for helping Remus that she gave him a higher mark on his homework.
