Sophie

The lights are dim. All I can see is the sea of people dancing with the beat of the music. My world is spinning around me and I let out my voice to join the clamor of the mob.

Me and Maisie went to a bar, isinama ko siya para may karamay ako but my not-so-naughty-best-friend was already dragged out of the dance floor by her knight in shining armor. Kyle punched someone I don't know, but I don't give a damn care anymore. They can have their happy ever after.

I've been dancing here like a maniac with different guys. Opps! I guess dancing is just a mild term, dry humping is a better word for what I'm doing now.

Nahihilo na ako at medyo dumidilim na rin ang paningin ko. I think the vodka is already controlling my system. Habang lumalalim ang gabi, mas dumarami rin ang tao sa dance floor. I don't want to end this night. I don't want to go home. I don't want to be alone. Because when I'm alone, all I can think of is Daryl.

The memory of him kissing another girl is still fresh. Hindi ko magawang kalimutan ang lahat ng nangyari. Parang dinudurog ng paulit-ulit ang puso ko sa tuwing naalala ko iyon.

"Sophie."

Someone called out my name. Hindi ko alam kung kanino galing ang boses na iyon. My mind is too clouded to focus. Nagpatuloy ako sa pagsayaw hanggang sa makaramdam ako ng braso na nakapulupot sa aking beywang. Hmm, another guy wants to have dirty dance with Sophie Lim. I grind myself to the man standing behind me and rubbed my booty to his thighs.

"Sophie, stop it. You're drunk."

I suddenly came to back to my senses when I registered his voice. Tumigil ako sa pagsasayaw at humarap sa kanya.

Fuck.

"Sinusundan mo ba ako?" The hell with this guy? "I told you already to keep out of my sight. AYAW. KO. NG. MAKITA. KA." I shouted at his face para marinig niya ang boses ko. Masyadong malakas ang music kaya hindi naman siguro mahahalata ng iba ang pagsigaw ko.

Umamba akong aalis pero pinigilan niya ako. "Please Sophie, makinig ka naman sa'kin."

"Utang na loob Daryl, tumigil ka na! Wala ka ng kailangan pang sabihin. Tapos na tayo!"

Itinulak ko siya at dali daling umalis sa bar. Kaya nga ako pumunta sa lugar na ito para makatakas sa problema ko. I'd like my thoughts to be pushed from conscious to my unconscious. Sa madaling salita, gusto kong makalimot. I need diversion. I need distraction so that I won't feel the pain. Pero paano ko naman gagawin yun kung sinusundan naman ako ng problem ko? Pambihira naman o!

Tumakbo ako palayo sa bar. I want to end the pain. I want to get away. I want to be far away from this place. Tumutulo ang luha ko habang tumatakbo ako. Lahat ng tao na nakakasalubong ko sa daan ay napapatingin sa akin. I bet my make-up is all over my face dahil sa pag-iyak ko.
