I walked through the open door. My red tank top and shorts were soaking wet because, unfortunately, I didn't look at any of the weather reports that morning. I had told mum that I would be late home from school because of some science project. But no, this was the afternoon of Halloween, so I wanted to scare her. It was around 7:30 P.M., and two full days before my 17th birthday. I locked the door behind me, keeping as quiet as I possibly could, then tiptoed upstairs, avoiding the multiple creaky floorboards. I push her bedroom door open, and saw her asleep on her bed. I slid underneath the bed, and poked my finger into the mattress. No reaction, dammit! I jabbed my finger harder into the mattress. She screamed, I slid out from under the bed, she screamed again.

"Francesca! You're sixteen! Go bother Isaac or Lily!" She yelled, pointing to the door. I stormed out, walked down the hallway, and literally kicked my brother's door open. I scooped him off the floor, and walked into my little sister's room. My brother and sister are like twins, both have golden brown hair, green eyes. I'm so different to them, having dark golden hair and red eyes, but I don't like to talk about that...

I set my little brother down on the floor and let him wander over to my sister. Lily was sitting next to her dollhouse, playing with her favorite doll, the one I had bought for her fifth birthday.

"Okay, mum told me to annoy you two, so..." I started to say, but stopped when I looked at my little sister's face. Red around her eyes, like she had been crying or something, and a medium sized cut on her forehead. It was only bleeding a little though, but it did worry me.

"Lily, what's wrong?" I asked, pulling her close to me. She wrapped her little hands around mine and started to cry again. Although she's the youngest, she's more grown up than anyone. Lily was going to turn five years old on November 10th.

"The men...hurt me..." She choked out, in-between sniffles. She was shaking, and seemed to be terrified. I stroked the top of her head, attempting to calm her down. She was probably just imagining this, since she had never said anything like this before. But, just to be sure, I needed more information. I mean, what reason would she have to lie about something like this?

"When do these men come? What do they do? Do you know what they look like?" I questioned, getting more and more worried. They didn't answer me. Isaac put his arm around her and whispered something into her ear, that made her jump up and run into the closet, sobbing.

"Isaac! What did you say to her!?" I screamed at him, and regretted it when he started to cry. I pulled him into a hug, letting his tears drop onto my shoulder.

"I only asked her if they would be coming for us, and they probably are!" He sobbed, clinging tightly to me. This was when I started to freak out, but being the big sister, I had to hide the fact I was freaking out, just so they wouldn't worry.

"That's okay, honey. They won't come, I'm sure you are just imagining this." I said, as calmly as I could.

"Can't you save us? You do archery and kickboxing! You can fight." Lily cried from inside the closet. She was right, I was a good fighter, and I was pretty good with a bow. I was about to get her out, when I heard a scream. My mother's scream! I pushed Isaac under the bed, and told him to tell Lily to stay hidden too. I ran from the room, fucking terrified, then heard a man's laugh. I tried to open my mother's bedroom door, but it was locked. Shit, shit, shit!

That was it. Something inside of me snapped, making my world twist around. I saw a flash of red, then I kicked the door, breaking a hole in it. I continued until I finally broke the door down... and my heart sank. I saw my mother's body laying on the floor, mangled, intestines pulled out and her eyes gouged out. I turned to the man, then ran at him. He killed my mother, so I guess I needed to get some kind of revenge. And I couldn't just run away; there was a chance I'd be followed, and there was no way I'd be able to carry two children and run at my fastest pace. The phone was downstairs, so I couldn't go down and get it to ring the police, as I'd leave Isaac and Lily upstairs, unprotected. My extremely sharp nails would have to do as some kind of weapon.

I tackled the man to the floor, swiping at his face with my razor sharp nails, cutting large scratches into his face. The man was struggling under me, but somehow, I managed to keep him still while I slashed at his face, his blood splattering onto my hands, nails, and part of my tank top. I stabbed my claws right into his neck,

"Tell me what it's like up there in heaven..." I giggled, pulling my claws from his neck. The man choked, and coughed up a lot of blood. He choked to death on his own blood, I got off him and kicked his dead body. I guess I'm not as normal as the other girls: 2 centimeter long, black nails, red eyes, sharp pointy teeth. I'm really wasn't normal. I looked at my mother's corpse again. The blood that poured from her just made me thirsty. The intestines pulled from her just made me hungry. I decided to change my name, to something that matches my...look, blood red. Blood Red. The perfect name for me.

"Fran! Fran! Help! Please!" My brother and sister yelled, their voices were full of fear. I rushed over to the room, as fast as I possibly could. I arrived just in time to see little Lily have a knife inserted deep into her tiny stomach. Isaac was crawling backwards, away from the man, who turned sharply to see me, bursting through the door. The man let go of her and let her fall to the ground. Lily was coughing up blood. I knew she wouldn't survive, even if we did manage to get out of this, and take her to the hospital. And a few seconds later, she stopped moving, she stopped breathing...

"Well, well, well...There's another kid here." He said to himself, chuckling quietly. His short, brown hair was covering his left eye, and he had small drops of blood in his hair. His eyes were a strange, electric blue color, and instead of regular shaped pupils, the man's pupils were exactly like a snake's. He was the strangest looking person I had ever seen.

I charged at the man, sinking my claws deep into his throat and back. I chuckled as I said my new catchphrase again, licking the blood from my claws. The strange man struggled, choking, then went completely silent. The men, my mother, and my little, sweet, innocent sister Lily were all dead. My little brother looked at me, horrified by the new me...when I had just saved his fucking life! He stood up, and backed away from me, hitting the wall, crying. I walked over to him, smiling slightly, and put my claws under his throat.

"Y-You don't l-love me, even though I-I just saved y-you?" I said, my voice shaking a little, I was pretending to be sad. Isaac's eyes widened, and he shook his head quickly.

"No! I do love you! You're my big sister, but you've turned into a monster now! Look at yourself!" He cried, raising a finger and pointing it at me. I smacked his hand down, angrily. Isaac whimpered and looked down at the ground.

"Monsters, are the people who killed our entire family...I tried to protect you..." I paused, and kissed my little brother's cheek, my claws still under his throat. There was only one thing I could think of to protect him. Protect him from me.

"Isaac, tell me what it's like up there in heaven..."
