I woke up trying to figure out where I was. And why I felt a weight around my waist, and a heat along my back. And why I was naked.

Slowly it came back to me. Jace and I had been married the day before. All the touching and kissing and exploring came back to me, and I felt a heat rush to my face. That explained why I was a little sore.

I was trying my best not to wiggle around. I didn't want to wake him up. Waking up in his arms was nice. And I got to do this every day for the rest of our lives. I just hoped that our lives wouldn't somehow be cut short by the Assertives.

"Oh, no," Jace was stirring behind me. "I was supposed to be up to run with the soldiers this morning." He kissed the back of my head and untangled himself from me. "You know they won't let me off the hook just because we got married yesterday."

"I'll have breakfast ready for you when you get back," I sat up, covering myself. Not sure why I felt suddenly self conscious. He'd seen every inch of me the night before.

"Aww, don't be shy," he seemed to read my mind. I couldn't help but smile. "It's going to be nice coming home to such a beautiful wife." He kissed me, then rushed out of the room.

With a note from the Society that we didn't need to be there for the morning meeting, I kept myself busy around the cottage. I made breakfast for Jace, and was looking out our back door, lost in my thoughts, when he came up behind me and kissed my neck.I wasn't sure if I would ever get used to that sort of thing. But, he was already making good on his promise to make me feel loved.

"Your dad stopped me on the way home," Jace stood up to wash his dish. "He said we did need to be there this afternoon. They didn't have a morning meeting, Matteo was still tracking down some information."

My brow creased with worry. It was never a good thing when they had to track down more information. Matteo was part of a larger network of information for the Underground, so he was probably filtering through a lot of information.

I was almost surprised that Jace didn't want to go back to our room after breakfast, but he said he'd rather go for a walk. He grabbed a blanket on our way out and we went into the forest.

The little wooded area had always given me peace. You could hear the birds in it, and other animals scurrying around. I pointed out places Kat and I used to play, and smiled to myself when Jace spread the blanket out in the clearing where Kat and I used to play, and we engaged in some more adult activities there. This time when he started kissing me and touching me, I didn't get nervous. His caresses to my breasts felt so good, and when he kissed the tips, I couldn't help but close my eyes and moan. This seemed to spur him on, and he seemed pleased that I wore skirts, because his hand was under teasing me and soothing the ache I felt there for him.

Soon, I was straddling his lap, with his help, as he helped me take us both to a place where we saw stars during the day.

I was a little embarrassed of the fact that I screamed his name as I shattered in his arms, but my name escaped his lips as he found his own release. We lay, spent, for awhile before we realized we needed to go hear the information Matteo had tracked down.

The Society was in a tizzy when we walked in. I was afraid they were mad that we were late, but it was something else.

"There you are," Dad started pushing his way toward us. "I was about to send for you. We have prisoners. There were a couple of men sniffing around the edge of our illusion last night, and they were captured."

"And I need to go through their minds," I grabbed Jace's hand. "Why can't someone else do it?"

"Because you can erase at the same time," Dad motioned for me to follow. "Not that we can let them go, but they can't know we're here."
