Soldiers lined the streets, trying to get each person out of the city safely.
"You guys should just spend the night with me tonight," Jason said. "The Turners haven't stayed with each other for-"
"Where's Marie?" I interrupted.
"What?"
"You heard me. Where is she?"
"She...she's helping out the military in Manhattan. Why are you worried about her?"
"Because she's our sister and she's staying with you." There was a moment of silence until we got out of the city.
"When are you going back to Kansas, Ethan?" Jason asked.
"I don't know yet," I replied.
As soon as we got back to Jason's, I fell asleep on his couch.
