Sonnet X: Both Puppeteer and God
©2016, Olan L. Smith
"Am I a dream you dreamt? Both puppeteer,
And God? So, are we consciously inane?
And out of nil appears an astrosphere.
I beg to whom? A feathered human feigned?"
Angelic being beams, "And who conceives
Of me is not a dreamer-architect,
Yet, I exist," she divulges. "Fallen sheaves
You humans are. We create your neglect?
Would we create a thing so poorly made,
Designed? So, you create; you define
A labyrinth unknown and yet displayed,
You pursue dots and waves, arcane design;
They vanish. You are detailed fragile dreams
A dreamer dreamt himself to be, it seems."
