Mabel had a plan. She called her friends Candy and Grenda and told them to be at the shack at 6:50.

By the time 6:50 came, the doorbell rang and Mabel ran downstairs, hoping it wasn't Bill. She looked in the peephole and saw Candy and Grenda.

"Who's at the door?" Dipper asked from behind her.

"Candy and Grenda, dork." Mabel rolled her eyes.

Dipper crossed his arms. "Open the door then."

Mabel opened the door and Candy and Grenda stood there smiling. "Mabel!"

"See!" Mabel smiled. "I told you."

Dipper rolled his eyes and walked upstairs.

Mabel went outside and shut the door behind her. "Thanks for covering me, girls."

"It's what friends are for!" Grenda smiled.

"I really have to go to this party." Mabel said.

"All of us do." Candy giggled.

"We finally have a chance to be popular!" Grenda nearly shouted.

"Shhhh!" Mabel hissed. "Dipper doesn't know I'm going to this party. None of my family knows."

"Oh." Grenda frowned. "Sorry."

"Mabel!" Someone called out.

Mabel turned around to see Bill walking to her.

"Bill!" Mabel smiled. "You're here!"

"I said I'd be here at 7, didn't I?" Bill chuckled.

"It's 6:52." Mabel giggled. "You're early."

"Better early than late." Bill shrugged.

"Mabel, who is this?" Candy whispered in Mabel's ear, but Bill could obviously hear.

"This is Bill." Mabel chuckled. "He's new to the school too and everyone thinks he's cool."

"He could be the key to our popularity!" Grenda grinned.

"Let's go." Mabel blushed.

As Candy and Grenda walked a little ahead of Mabel and Bill, Mabel felt nervous and she didn't know why,

Bill sensed Mabel's behavior and decided to start a conversation. "So, where's your brother?"

Mabel looked at Bill. "He's being stupid. He told me I wasn't allowed to come to this party."

"And you're being a rebel and you're going?" Bill laughed.

"I guess so." Mabel smiled and nodded.

"You know he's gonna find out sometime." Bill said.

"I know." Mabel sighed. "But I don't care. He isn't the boss of me."

"I like your style, Shooting Star." Bill nudged her with his arm.

"Um thanks?" Mabel giggled.

After about a fifteen minute walk they arrived at Pacifica's grand mansion. The golden lights shined in the night sky, people laughing and having fun outside the gates.

Bill looked at Mabel and smiled. "Let's go."
