HELLO! I'M BACK FROM THE DEAD! I'm so, so sorry for not updating in forever! So much shit has been going on lately and I have absolutely zero time. So his chapter is basically going to be everything from the time of the first demon attack up to when Levy was kidnapped so please enjoy!

As the two boys approached the small girl in the infirmary, they couldn't help but feel slightly frightened at the sight of her. She was covered in blood and even though it wasn't her own, she was shaking like a leaf. Nurses were wiping her off as King Makarov strode into the room He approached the little girl with a smile, as she quivered and sobbed quietly.

"What is your name, my child?" he asked in a kind voice. "L-l-l-levy M-mcG-garden." she replied in a strained voice. "How old are you?" "E-eight." she replied. The old man smiled up at her, and lips seemed to quiver less. " What a lovely name. I am King Makarov. You may stay here until we find you a permanent place to stay." "Thank you." Levy said in a small voice.

After she had a bath and was in a fresh, new outfit, Makarov was waiting for her, the two young boys still hovering at the edge of the room, quite under the impression they had not been seen. But the old king new better. "Boys, I know you're there so come out and say hello." They gladly stumbled around the corner. The blonde one wanted to meet the girl and the black haired one thought she was quite pretty.

"Levy, this is my grandson, Laxus," the blonde one waved at her, "And his best friend, Gajeel." The black haired one stepped forward and bowed. Levy, having been the daughter of servants, was quite unaccustomed to being shown this much respect.

"Hello." she said quietly.

"It's great to meet you." said Laxus. "Hi! What are things you like to do?" asked Gajeel.

Levy smiled." I love to read! It's my favorite thing to do!" she said. "Have you seen the royal library?" Laxus asked. "I haven't." "Can we show her the library, grandpa?" asked Laxus. "Of course. Off you go." Makarov dismissed them, and the three children ran out of the infirmary, smiles on their faces. Makarov smiled and went up to his office.

When he got there, his son and his wife were waiting. "She seems like a lovely girl." Karina said. "It seems so. She has already made fast friends of Gajeel and Laxus." Makarov said as he sat down at his desk. "What are you gonna do with her. You already seem pretty attached to her." Ivan joked. "It seems I have. She was the daughter of servants, so the castle is the only home she's ever known." Makarov said as he stared at the ceiling. "You're point is?" Ivan asked. "I was thinking that perhaps you two could take her." "Oh, that's a wonderful idea! What do you think, Ivan?" asked Karina, a sparkle in her eye. "Really? You're being serious?" Ivan asked, a doubtful look playing across his face. "But she's all alone. Her parents were just killed. The least we can do is take care of her." Karina said, looking imploringly at her husband. He smiled at her. "I can't say no to you and who knows, it might be fun having her around." Ivan said, looking at his father with a smile.

*6 years later*

"DEMONS ARE IN THE CASTLE! EVERYBODY UP! NOW!"

Levy had just gotten back to her room after dinner when the shouting started. She was still in her clothes from training which meant it would be much easier to run in pants and boots instead of a dress. She opened the door as servants ran past. She bolted into the hall and started down the hall towards the door to the underground safe room. "Mom!" she shouted when she saw her mother running towards her. "Levy, hurry!" Karina shouted, but it was too late. A huge demon was barreling towards them down the hallway. It pounced on Karina and all Levy saw was the blood that spilled onto the floor.

"MOM!" Levy cried.

She rushed forward but someone caught her. "Gajeel, let me go!" she shrieked as the tall boy held her back. "No fucking way! I'm not gonna let you get hurt too!" he shouted as she kicked his large frame. Levy could only watch as some guards finally took the demon down. She squirmed out of Gajeel's grip and went to her mother, but she was already gone. Levy sobbed for an eternity as Gajeel kneeled next to her, a hand on her back.
