27. Smiles and Smirks

"Shukar hai zyada chotein nahi aayi,kuch zakhm hain jo jaldi bharjaenge aur...minute leg fracture hai jo rest lene se theek hojaenge" doctor,who is also friend with uncle said and we all sighed in relief

Alhamdulillah..

"Don't worry Aftab,Iram is fine" he smiled patting his shoulder and uncle responded with a short nod.I shifted my gaze towards Hussain who was still holding tension in his face,his jaw clenched and eyes red

"Iram ko hosh aagaya hai,aap log mil lein,she'll feel better" doctor said and went past by us.Aunty went in first with mama following her with dad and uncle after them

     I went to Hussain who was looking horrified.My eyes fell on his hand which was trembling

"Kya hua yaar? Doctor ne kahan toh hai ke woh theek hai,sirf thore din ka rest and she'll be perfectly alright" i tried to smile wide dropping my hands on his shoulder but the grimness,that fear was evident there in his face

"Ek pal me aisa laga jese mene use khodiya Shehry..woh ek pal mere zindagi ka sab se khaufzada pal tha" his chest heaved up as he said making me gulp.He was right

"Ch! Bhool ja..dekh use,ab woh bilkul theek hai" i said looking into the glass in the door,she was trying to sit with the help of mama and Zarina aunty.His lips curved into a small smile and so did mine

"Ab apni yeh dukhi boothi theek kar,warna woh pareshan ho jaegi" i chuckled and he smiled wide.We opened the door and went in

"Mama main bilkul theek hun" she was saying to aunty,trying to assure her.I chuckled turning all their attention towards me as i neared her

"Says the one whose forehead,left hand and right leg is wrapped in a bandage" i sneered slapping her fractured leg.No,there is no way i am going to do that

"Oww.." she growled quickly grabbing her right leg making me raise my brows.Elders gasped while Hussain stiffened behind me hearing her

"Shehry kya karrahe ho? Dard hoga use" mama scold me making me roll my eyes

"Here.." i slapped her left leg again playing the trick and she again grabbed her right leg instantly groaning.I huffed and they realising laughed out loud.She bit her tongue in between her lips

"Miss Drama.." i remarked and she made a face.This time i purposely hit her right leg slightly and she gasped

"Iss baar sach me maara.." she said popping her eyes out

"Aur nahi toh kya? Dekh kar road cross nahi karsakti thi? Itni bhi kya jaldi thi?" I scowled at her and she instantly shifted her gaze past me,on Hussain's.There was a tint of uneasiness there in her face making me furrow my brows

Kya chakkar hai boss?

"Shehry.." dad's stern voice was enough for my instant shut up.I shrugged and moved back letting elders talk to her

Hussain's POV:

       She shifted her gaze towards me and our eyes met.This was the first time we came face to face after that night.A strange uneasiness sorrounded us.She lowered her gaze before looking away

"Magar main nahi badalna chahthi"

"Kya matlab?"

"What if i say yes?"

"Yes?"

       She said and my heart skipped a beat,couldn't imagine her saying further
