February: Date Night

There was a knock on my door about an hour later.  Grabbing my black clutch bag and coat, I stopped in front of the mirror to take one last look at myself.  I looked great, wearing a tight grey scoop dress with ¾” sleeves and my black knee high 4” stiletto boots.  Around my neck hung the necklace Ethan had given me for Christmas; it was a hematite necklace with a pair of angel wings that hung long in the front.  My hair was slightly teased and pulled up into a ‘messy’ ponytail. Even my makeup looked great, which I usually kept natural, had dark eye shadow around them, which gave me a sexier, more edgy look then I was use to.

I was feeling good, and pretty confident Ethan was going to love the look.  Smiling one last time, I turned to open the door and my smile slightly faltered when Ethan wasn’t on the other side.

Standing in the doorway was John staring back at me.  Surprise was shown all over his face, as I caught him checking me out. His lips pulled up to the side, when he noticed me watching him.

Still smirking, John spoke first, “Wow, Emma, you look great! I mean, you usually look great.  But wow, you look really great!”

I couldn’t help but smile, because if I got this reaction from John, then Ethan surely would love it.

“Thanks, John.  I was actually expecting Ethan.  Is he running late?”

“No, He actually sent me.  I will be escorting you to your destination this evening,” he said while extending his arm for me to hold onto.

I put my arm in his, as he escorted me across campus. We talked mainly about our classes this semester, and how he, like Ethan, was almost done with college.  There was a chill in the air, not too cold, but not exactly ‘take a stroll around campus’ weather either. I grew slightly confused when we didn’t head for the parking lot.  Where were we going?

My question was answered when John lead me through the doors of the science building.  I was still confused, wondering what Ethan had planned for this date. John finally let me go as we stopped in front of the elevators.

Once the doors opened, he smiled at me and gestured for me to get in.  He quickly stepped in and pressed the button for the 3rd floor, which was the top floor of this building, and just as quickly stepped back out.

As the elevator doors began to close, I caught the smile on his face as he gave me a wink, and shouted “Have fun, Emma!”

I couldn’t help but smile back, “Thanks!”

Ethan has never done anything like this before. I started to feel the butterflies dance in my stomach, from the excitement and nervousness quickly spreading through my body.

When the elevator doors opened, I was almost sure my heart stopped beating for a few seconds.  There in the hallway stood Ethan, wearing a black button down shirt and fuchsia tie with black slacks.  He looked amazing, and by the lustful look in his eyes, he thought the same about me.

I couldn’t help by smile at his facial expression, as I heard the words “Wow!” leave his lips in a whisper.

Stepping out of the elevator, he extended his arm for me to take, and once I was within arms reach, he pulled me close and whispered, “You look beautiful.  I mean amazing.  No, I mean gorgeous!”

I couldn’t help but chuckle as he tried to find the right words.  I noticed the slight blush on his cheeks, “You don’t look so bad yourself.”

Turning to look around, “So, Mr. Ross, what is in store for us tonight?”  I still had no clue what he had up his sleeves since the hallway was empty with us being the only two people on the floor.
