The air in the Lair is thick with sadness as the Hamato's and the Jones' mourned over the loss of one of their own. Alex looked down at her shoes, her red hair hanging over her shoulders and her fringe covering her eyes. She gripped her black bandana in her hand tightly, letting her arm hang by her side. Danny, Felicia and June were in the same stance, all with tear tracks down their cheeks. Grace, Haidley, Sophie and Rosie were staring at their daughters, sadness filling their eyes. The four mothers had to go through this once before when their husbands had 'died' in Japan but for said husbands, this is their first time grieving.
"I can't believe he is gone," Michelangelo mumbled, his head resting in his hands with his green fingers pressed tightly to his forehead.
"I know, little brother," Raphael said and rested a hand on Mikeys' shoulder. "None of us can believe it."
"What do we do now?" Donatello asked and everyone turned to Sensei.
"We do what Master Splinter would have wanted us to do," Leonardo voiced, his voice full of thoughtfulness. "He would want us to continue training and protecting New York and that is exactly what we are going to do."
"But with the Foot Clan gone, are we still needed?" Danny asked and everyone sighed.
"She has a point, Uncle Leo," Alex said and stood up," but so do you. Splinter would want us to help whomever we can, whenever we can."
"But first, we need to grieve," April spoke up, her head resting on Casey's chest with her arm around her shoulders.
"I'm done grieving," Alex said and grasped her Sais, wrapping her black bandana over her eyes. "I need some air."
Alex then proceeded to bolt out of the lair, leaving her team behind. Danny lowered her head, June and Felicia met eyes before June stood up.
"We should check on her," she mumbled and the other two nodded, following the purple eyed girl, with their family watching them leave.

The three girls found their Leader in Blue sitting on the rooftop if Second Time Around, hugging her knees to her chest, her red hair blowing in the wind. She heard her team approaching her and she tightened her grip around her knees.
"How you holding up?" Felicia asked, sitting down beside the oldest cousin.
"To be honest, I'm okay," Alex mumbled and June sat down on her other side with Danny next to her. "I guess I was expecting Splinter to pass but I guess it hasn't really hit me yet."
"At least he will be with Hamato Yoshi and Tang Shen again," June voiced and tears filled Alex's eyes, to which she knew what was coming next.
She let out a sob and Felicia pulled her into her body, hugging the sobbing red hair girl. June and Danny met eyes before joining the hug.
"You always try to be the strong one, sometimes you just need to let us be the strong ones," June continued and Alex hiccupped.
"I know," Alex sighed and rubbed her eyes.
"Yellow?" Felicia said and the girls glanced at her, frowning, only to notice she was talking on the Shell Cell. "Okay, where? Alright, we'll meet you there."
Felicia hung up and a grin spread across her face as she turned to her team consisting of a red head, a blue haired and an orange steaked girl whom were staring back at her.
"Seems like some Purple Dragons just don't know when to quit," she smirked and the girls perked up at hearing this.
"What are we waiting for?" Alex smiled, her tears gone.
Danny, June and Felicia all grinned back and tighten their coloured masks over their eyes, before Felicia tugged Alex's blue mask off her arm and tied it around her eyes. The three girls held their arms out and released their black masks, watching them fly through the air. Alex did the same and felt a slight weight lift off her shoulders.
"Now we can go," she beamed and Alex nodded, flipping off the roof, following Felicia.

Fighting alongside their family, Raphael, Sophie and Alex all wielding Sais, Leonardo, Gracie and Danny grasping the Katana, Michelangelo, Haidley and June all used the Nunchucks and Donnie, Rosie and Felicia twirled the Bo Staff in their hands. Each member of their own teams struck Purple Dragons left right and centre.
Fighting.
Protecting.
Disappearing.
Being a Ninja is one thing, but having the truth revealed about being in a family of Ninjas is totally different and Alex wouldn't want it any other way.
